Eaton’s CPD division is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Arecibo facility.

The Buyer is responsible to ensure adequate materials availability & inventory levels as required by Production Plans.

The Buyer will:

  • Monitor and control inventory levels of materials through the proper use of available tools in AS400-MAPICS system (MRP, Inventory Management, etc…) and systematic reviews to receipts & returns.

  • Periodically review and maintain all the MRP system parameters driving necessary data integrity to ensure adequate and timely materials procurement. (lead times, MOQ, MPQ, etc ...).

  • Coordinate and/or provide support on projects of cost reduction, logistics processes optimization, Materials Management, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), etc…

  • Monitor and track performance to metrics of Key Business Indicator within the SRM and Plant Purchasing Scorecard, such as: Suppliers on Time Delivery (OTD), Quality (PPMs/DMRs), price stability, flexibility and service.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration or related area.

  • 1 year of experience as buyer in manufacturing environment.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.


Position Success Criteria:

  • Bilingual – English\Spanish with good oral and written communication skills.

  • PC Proficiency including knowledge of MS windows operating systems, MS Office, Access and Inventory systems (AS400).

  • Prioritizes, considers alternatives, and responds quickly and effectively to unexpected and rapidly changing conditions.

  • Establish networking and interact with key persons/groups at all level of the organization (including suppliers) whose assistance, cooperation, and support may be needed.

  • Manage effectively high-pressure situation.

  • Managing multiple projects/situations simultaneously.

  • Hand-on experience identifying, managing and executing projects.

  • Availability to work extended hours when required by management.
