The individual in the role will be part of the Finance function of the lighting business (NewCo), Pune team responsible for ensuring financial accounting activities at the location are performed for the customers across North America and EMEA. The position is responsible for fixed asset accounting, reconciliation, intercompany etc. with a high degree of efficiency and quality for business units. This role is instrumental in supporting the Plant Controller (as necessary) by ensuring that RTR activities are performed end to end accurately & efficiently. The role requires the individual to monitor and analyze accounting data and ensure compliance to the Business’s Financial Policies, legal requirements, GAAP and agreed SLAs with the customers. This individual is responsible to create and implement procedures to improve the internal control environment and streamline efforts. This position also has important responsibility for building organizational capability within the function by developing finance talent through training, mentoring and coaching and will be managing a team of RTR analysts, while fostering process improvements and continuous learning.  This position is also responsible for managing key production metrics and activities associated with quality audits.


Eaton has announced its intent to spinoff its Lighting Business into publicly traded company (“SpinCo”).  This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and this position is expected to remain with SpinCo.   The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  The Lighting Business is in the process of developing its total rewards philosophy, strategy and structure, including the design of its benefits and annual and long-term incentive plans that will take effect when SpinCo becomes a publicly traded company. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when SpinCo becomes an independent, publicly traded company, you will be eligible to participate in SpinCo’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that SpinCo’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.

  • Process Centric - Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and processes (RTR, OTC & PTP) with due focus in managing end to end accounting activities in the RTR function. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close and ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Monitors and analyzes team’s work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Day to day Process activities include -

    • Driving customer satisfaction by ensuring Record to Report activities are performed as per customer expectations and service level agreements

    • Work allocation and balancing between team members to ensure a balance between employee engagement and customer satisfaction

    • Plans and oversees daily production activities by facilitating continuous process improvements and knowledge sharing/transfer of direct reports in order to drive standardization of processes.

    • Manages metrics to meet goals by ensuring direct reports job functions and activities are performed efficiently and effectively in order to support the rapid integration of acquisitions and facilitate divestitures, and reorganizations.

    • Provides customer support and resolution to issues by metrics monitoring and quality audits in order to assure quality of product to the customer.

    • Adhering and ensuring smooth month end close

  • Control & Compliance - Identifying the risks in the process and implementing the process controls accordingly. Compliance with corporate policy, including SOX. Will be responsible for closure of all internal audit / SOX gaps identified. To ensure compliance of the entity financial practices with all respective statutory and Local GAAP/ Financial Policies requirements. Responsible for conforming to corporate policies and reporting, legal requirements, Local and US GAAP

  • Collaboration - Collaborates with the other stakeholders to support overall goals and objectives. Work closely with Plant Finance/ Division Controller, Pune Site Controller, Other Process Leads on inquiries, special reporting requests and the like. Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.

  • Quality culture: Drive and leverage various systems and tools to automate processes and drive process improvements. Encourage use of quality tools.

  • Process Standardization: Regular review of existing controls and Governance of the standard processes and ensuring alignment to global defined SSC processes

  • Team Management and Build organization capability - Manages the workforce, in one or more subgroups of Record to Report which will include cash management thru reconciliations, intercompany and fixed asset accounting etc. depending on the region, ledger and team size by creating goals, mentoring, coaching and providing opportunities to enhance current skill sets in order to foster/empower an innovative team environment. Ensuring development of functional knowledge and back up planning for the team.

  • Continuous Improvement- Demonstrate a practical approach to continuous improvement of the processes which directly manage the delivery of our services. Improve formalized standards and procedures in using new technologies and facilitates others in learning new technologies. Proactively seeks and acts on ways to positively promote and foster initiative in own team and other departments of the organization. Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.



If you are having,

  • Job Shift time: 6:30 pm to 3:00 am

  • Accounting Degree (CA) or MBA-Finance with required experience
  • Must have an end-to-end process knowledge for GL/FA and good understanding of OTC and PTP encompassing overall accounting as the area
  • Good experience of SAP ERP.
  • 8-10 years of total experience, of which should have led a team for a minimum of 3+ ye
  • Should have an exposure to manage a team for atleast 4-5 team member
  • Knowledge of SOX/ US GAAP/ India regulatory/Internal control
  • Knowledge of direct and indirect tax preferable
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral English communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across boundaries/business lines.
  • Be a guide and coach to the team
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Excel Macro
