Account Sales Representative

Job Description

Eaton's Cooper Lighting Division is hiring for an Account Sales Representative to be based in our Mississauga office and covering the Greater Toronto Area.


The Account Sales Representative is responsible for attainment of sales and specification objectives as set forth by the National (Regional) Sales Manager in alignment with Corporate and Divisional Goals. The Account Sales Representative interfaces directly with end users, ESCOs and the design community to influence specifications and provide consultation on the best lighting and control solutions to meet the customer’s needs. This person will also work in collaboration with the extended GTA sales team, as well as general contractors, electrical contractors and distributors, as required, to secure opportunities.

  • You will work directly with end users, ESCOs and designers to understand project needs, assist in the development of domestic and international specifications and project designs, and manage specifications of a wide range of Lighting Products, Systems and Solutions.

  • You will develop and foster productive working relationships with the key ESCO firms and personnel. Provides training and demonstrates new solutions and products ongoing.

  • You will collaborate with the GTA sales representatives, assist contractor, distributors and engineers with training and project management, as required, to ensure the effective deployment of specified Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Systems and Solutions.

  • You will manage and advance a pipeline of projects and opportunities within the C360 CRM platform. The Account Sales Representative shall activate new specifications and projects, and maintain an opportunity pipeline that is aligned with the revenue attainment goals for the GTA team.

  • You will collaborate with the National Account Manager, maintain and further develop relationships with key account designers and influencers. Support the creation of wider specifications at named accounts, as required.

  • You will be required to support out-of-territory sales agents with assigned end user accounts and specifications for projects out-of-territory.

  • You will develop and deliver ROI analysis and reports based on current incentives leveraging the benefits of the lighting and connected lighting solutions.

  • You will ensure that appropriate technical guidance and assistance is provided regarding product applications in order to meet customer’s needs.

  • You will work closely with the Application Engineers to provide photometric design and analysis that can favorably differentiate Eaton’s Cooper Lighting.

  • You will work closely with and coordinates activities with all departments within Eaton’s Cooper Lighting and Lighting Systems and Solutions to ensure that company-wide goals are achieved. .

  • You will serve as “Voice of the Customer” by identifying trends, making recommendations and supplying feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure products meet and exceed customer expectations and future requirements.  

Eaton has announced its intent to spinoff its Lighting Business into publicly traded company (“SpinCo”).  This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and this position is expected to remain with SpinCo.   The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  The Lighting Business is in the process of developing its total rewards philosophy, strategy and structure, including the design of its benefits and annual and long-term incentive plans that will take effect when SpinCo becomes a publicly traded company. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when SpinCo becomes an independent, publicly traded company, you will be eligible to participate in SpinCo’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that SpinCo’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.

Basic Qualifications:
  • College diploma from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in lighting & control industry

  • No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 80km of the Eaton Mississauga location.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
