This exciting role is a part of Aerospace group and the individual will be responsible to execute solar panel interconnect harnesses project for photovoltaic electric generation system applications. Interpreting customer’s requirements pertaining to solar panel type, rack size, row layout, harness label format, and be able to interpret field layout of panels to combiner boxes and hence calculate the cut length and create cut length harness drawings for solar panel interconnect harnesses. Providing design solutions to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirements including safety, reliability and conformance to standards. Position also requires close collaboration with other functions, such as supply chain and manufacturing


Your essential responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer’s photovoltaic electric generation system specification pertaining to solar panel type, rack size, row layout, harness label format, and most importantly be able to interpret field layout of panels to combiner boxes and hence calculate the cut length and create cut length harness drawings for solar panel interconnect harnesses.

  • Visualize 3D space when looking at a 2D field layout, Creation of 3D models drawings, reports, ECRs/ECOs and BOMs

  • Capturing customer voice, Understanding and Executing milestones, Conducting technical and project Reviews, Communication and on the job development and learning

  • Execute projects related to new product development (NPD), value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) and sustaining engineering (SE) through the execution of programs/projects in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives

  • Performs complex engineering assignments, involving product design, testing and compliance to specifications, process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch

  • Utilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements

  • Sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group

  • Drives PRO-Launch execution for NPI programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan and attaining all engineering deliverables per activity matrix

  • Resolve technical issues and road blocks impacting assigned projects by taking quick and timely decisions which are well supported by design calculations, engineering analysis and prediction methodology.

  • Maintain credible communication practice with stakeholders on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures

Qualifications

If you are:



  • B.E/B.Tech with 5+ years’ experience in Mechanical or related engineering area with 3+ years of engineering/product design experience in relevant domain
  • Experience in electrical connector product design, mold flow analysis interpretation, injection mold and tool design.
  • Proven track record in engineering Design, Analysis, R&D, application engineering domain

  • Experience in handling Design for Manufacturing, DFMEA & DVPR

  • Experience in projects involving significant amount of CAD and FEA.

  • Proficiency in CAD tools; Preferably Solid Works and experience with PLM tool preferably Enovia

  • Hard working ability and desire for excellence in executing projects

  • Strong and effective communication skills

  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis/ Problem Solving Skills

Desired:

  • Proficient in DFSS tools like FMEA, FMECA, DOE, Monte Carlo Analysis etc.

  • Knowledge of Excel Visual Basic programming
