Director of Quality

Job Description

Eaton’s Lighting division is currently searching for a Director of Quality to join our team. This position is based at our Peachtree City, GA facility.


This position is responsible for formulating division-wide quality assurance policies that support the overall Corporate and Divisional short/long-term objectives for growth and profitability.  Working with and through operations management ensures the successful implementation of such policy and as well as continued adherence to such policies. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Formulating division-wide quality assurance policy for all phases of the manufacturing process including incoming components, work in process and finished goods. 

  • Leading key Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance processes across facilities, including: Corrective Action, Warranty, Audit, Management Review, and Cost of Non-Conformance (CONC)

  • Working with the broader operations team including sourcing, manufacturing, quality and distribution to successfully implement a division-wide quality policy that will improve overall business systems within the organization.

  • Implementing global quality initiatives to ensure company’s product quality and reliability meet or exceed customer expectations

  • Managing business systems at the business level within the quality group, develops uniform and practices at all locations that support a total quality management program.

  • Be a key member of the VP, Operations’ and Supply Chain staff, provides input relative to quality strategies, training, measurement and communication to improve overall business practices and systems.

  • Establishing procedures and techniques of control, measurements, quality standards through direction of inspection personnel/processes coordinating with manufacturing and engineering.

  • Working with strategic sourcing to confer with vendors to resolve incoming component quality problems.

  • Interfacing with sales, customer service and customers to resolve finished product quality issues.


Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive experience with manufacturing organizations of similar size and complexity.

  • Operations experience with manufacturing plants and contract manufacturers in Mexico and Asia.

  • Experience leading a multisite organization in a consumer goods or diversified industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Eligible to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering or Business management.

  • Post graduate degree in, Operations Management, Engineering, or Business discipline preferred.

  • Experience with manufacturing plants and contract manufacturers in Mexico and Asia leading the quality function.

  • Prior experience as plant manager or a significant operations leadership role desired.
