Senior Quality Engineer

Job Description

Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY facility.

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining customer relationships and ensuring quality needs are met while guiding teams through root cause and corrective action implementation.

  • You will ensure that products meet quality requirements.

  • You will coordinate with Quality Managers to discuss and resolve product quality issues raised by       customers. 

  • You will update customers and PLM team in a timely fashion regarding the status of quality issues or any requests.

  • You will participate in product quality planning and control processes based on customer’s specifications and requirements. 

  • You will inform quality management team regarding customer feedback and expectations on products quality. 

  • You will prepare and update all necessary quality reports as required by customers.

  • You will address customer issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • You will lead and direct customer issues to closure, by gathering appropriate teams and problem solving using tools such as 8Ds, 5-Whys etc. 

  • You will collect and evaluate quality data, identify problem areas, recommend solutions and coordinate / facilitate corrective actions to control costs and achieve established quality objectives for external failures, scrap, problem orders and related performance measures.

  • You will establish continuous improvement efforts to assure continued customer satisfaction. 

  • You will develop and execute plan with team to win customer quality awards.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working within a Quality, Continuous Improvement, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering function

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Syracuse, NY facility will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • CQE/CQM certification

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification

  • SAP Quality Module Expertise
