Eaton’s Aerospace group is currently seeking a Hone & Lap Operator on 1st shift to join our team. This position is in our Los Angeles, CA (Glendale area) facility.

 

The Hone & Lap operator is to set-up and operate hone and lap equipment.

  • You will hone and lap fit to meet blueprint manufacturing outline, and process sheet requirements.

  • You will inspect part prior to first article

  • You will perform work to tight tolerances as tight as 0.001

  • You will lap blind holes to blue print tolerance up to 0.001

  • You will properly set tools in honing and lapping machine required for set-up

  • You will maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to 5S Principles

  • You will fulfill the requirements of the Quality Policy and Quality Management System

  • You will cross train other employees in machine operations

  • You will set-up and operate Sunnen Hones, Norton Disc Laps and various other lapping equipment.

  • You will lap fit spools and sleeves holding 20 millionths of an inch total tolerance.

  • You will effectively utilize state of the art precision outside and inside diameter measuring equipment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA facility will be considered for this position.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Eaton will consider for employment, qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the FCIHO

 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience hone and lapping

  • Aerospace experience

  • Blue print reading
