Quality Engineering Technician
Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility.
The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality and High Performance Work team including day to day floor support, tooling design, gauging, quality, resolution to build questions concerning process or tooling and efficiency. In this role, you will work closely with focus factory HPWT to maximize team goals. The Quality Engineering Technician will spend majority of their time on shop floor to provide technical support to operations and support customer requirements where needed. You will support formal problem solving for internal and external customers.

You will complete Quality Engineering Technician assignments with minimal supervision.
You will define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
You will support and/or provide technical advice and counsel to High Performance Work Teams assigned to continuous improvement and problem solving.
You will assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
You will develop and implement corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, and A3.
You will provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
You will lead the DMR team to properly disposition non-conforming product.
You will communicate quality issues to front line leaders and factory personnel and assist them in root cause and permanent corrective action.
You will support the disposition and analysis of returned material and internal non-conforming product. Insure that actions around top pareto items are identified and completed.
You will assist HPWT Quality Engineer with containment of product and analysis of data during corrective action investigation

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an Accredited Institution required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Jackson, MI facility will be considered.
Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements.
Knowledge of assembly operations, gauging, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Demonstrated organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with manufacturing area, from production associates to the leadership of the HPWT team.
- Experience in high mix/low volume manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience in hose assembly, manual assembly/test, metal fabrication and bend, welding/brazing, chemical processes preferred
- Useable skills with MS Office software
- Certified Weld Inspector
- Minimum 2 years NDT experience
- Member of accredited special process organization
- Working knowledge of NADCAP special process requirements for joining
- Limited travel may be required (<10%)
