The Japan sales leader will be responsible for the regional budget, achievement of sales objectives for the region and the development & implementation of sales plans in line with the business strategy.   Expected results include but are not limited to growth in sales and market share, channel development as well as developing talent.

Your essential responsibilities:

  • Own the strategic growth initiatives at the regional level and ensure plans are in place and reviewed regularly to meet the growth objectives.

  • Developing and strengthening brand recognition in growing markets and adapting relationship management approaches that address the different needs of these markets or market segments, and customers.

  • Provides leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales reps and the distributor channel. Appoint, train, incentive and lead the sales force to achieve individual objectives and overall objectives.

  • Develop Sales team to ensure that they fully understand the activities in the region in order to optimize sales and profits.

  • Balancing top-line growth while managing price and growing market share.

  • Be responsible for the regional orders and sales budget and develop/ implement the regional business plan in line with budget expectations.

  • Own the regional SG&A budget and manage expenditure accordingly

  • Provide regular reports to the Product Line Managers concerning the local market, competitive activities and customer feedback.

  • Prepare all required financial forecasting and reporting on time.

  • Demonstrate close co-operation with other regions.

  • Understand and articulate the overall objectives of the company regarding global sales strategies and communicate them in a meaningful way to the regional sales team

  • Take responsibility for local Distribution and Agency channels as appropriate

  • Support the development of the Crouse portfolio sales strategy and plan.

  • Own and manage specific key accounts in the region.

Qualifications

If you are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree of science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

  • Key and Global Account selling – clients with multiple sites in various geographies

  • Strong knowledge in Ex industry and products

  • Strategic thinking and planning

  • Commercial/Financial savvy: builds trust and cultivates relationships with customers; understands, communicates, and meets customers’ current and future needs. Understanding business and financial metrics and impact, and how to mitigate risk.

  • Preferred 10-15 years of related experience in sales or business development

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and coordinate others. Deep negotiation skills and expertise; able to cope with ambiguity (work in the grey), listen, and successfully resolve problems and manage conflict, navigating resistance and developing buy-in.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Strong organization, communication and project management skills

  • Initiative and self-management skills; Emotional maturity - ability to handle frustration, manage different maturity levels in the market, varying business cycles, and a broad diversity of situations.

  • Value selling training

  • Presentation skills; Strong professional presence, can effectively manage difficult negotiations and other conflicts, managerial courage.

  • Demonstrates behaviour and leadership style consistent with Eaton’s values and philosophy.
