Eaton Corporation has an opening on the Industrial Sector Finance team for a Global Financial Planning & Analysis Leader. The primary purpose of this role is to organize, manage, and direct financial inputs and analysis for the Industrial Sector Business Segments and functions while providing key inputs to influence business decisions. In addition, the role supports forecasting, month-end, and year-end close processes, and major business acquisition and restructuring analytics. The role will be responsible for ensuring reporting continuity and transparency across the business segments within the sector and will serve as a liaison to the shared service center for the sector.
The essential functions of this role include but are not limited to:
Develop sector financial reporting commentary methodology and reporting metrics in collaboration with Corporate Accounting
Management of sector and functional budgets on a monthly basis and development of future profit plan budgets
Develop and/or review financial models related to significant capital projects or customer proposals.
Coordinate the tactical development of the profit plan for each segment. Ensuring documentation is complete, required schedules are provided, and accuracy is validated.
Ensure adherence to all generally accepted accounting and finance policies, procedures, and schedules
Supervise workload for sector India Finance team. Coordinate daily, monthly, and special projects
Supervise a team supporting each business segment within the Industrial Sector
Work on special projects as required by VP Controller. Develop financial models and forecast for major restructuring actions.
Ensure collaboration across sector financial reporting
Create a high performance talent pool to export to the businesses. Create a culture of intellectual rigor, performance, and leadership.
Interface for the diligence of new acquisitions or new STP projects to insure the synergy proposals are captured, relevant and modeled for the business case
Develops training and skill improvement plans to continuously improve departmental performance
Review and coordinate individual Letters of Representation (LOR) commentary and summary
Provide content to Board of Director presentations in partnership with Industrial Sector HQ peers
Leverage understanding of root cause in financial variance to positively impact overall business performance
Bachelor’s degree with Accounting or Finance major.
Minimum of 10 years’ of progressive breadth of experience in Accounting and Finance
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Manager of people.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
MBA or professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFM, CIA)
Thorough understanding of general accepted accounting principles and financial processes
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with ability to complete necessary analytical reports and provide written commentary and interpretation.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
Proficient with Eaton financial reporting systems
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Capability to incorporate the implications of shifting economic, customer, and industry dynamics into financial modelling in order to inform and influence business decisions
