Eaton’s Hydraulics division is currently seeking a SCM Program Manager, Ferrous Castings to join our team. This position is based at our Eden Prairie, MN facility.


Responsible for program management of projects related to PMC Ferrous Castings (raw and machined) to support the direct material category strategy purchased by Eaton Hydraulics Group in the Americas region in alignment with the Enterprise Commodity Management team to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply of ferrous castings & services that meet the organization’s cost goals (cost out, economics) and performance goals (on-time delivery OTD, quality DPPM, payment terms DPO).

 

Responsible for Hydraulics PMC Americas execution of the ferrous casting category strategy including projects aligned with ferrous casting sourcing, supplier selection, supplier development, supplier capacity, and relationship building with key foundries and machined casting suppliers to leverage Eaton’s purchases, reduce cost and improve supplier performance with the support of global and regional procurement organizations.

  • You will manage all Americas Region ferrous casting projects, with the intention of improving a Hydraulic Group performance and driving execution of the Ferrous Casting Category Strategy.
  • You will develop, align and deploy effective direct material sourcing plans across Hydraulics group for the PMC Division in the Americas Region with accountability to positively impact associated annual commodity spend – delivering annual value in terms of cost out, inflation mitigation, performance and process improvement. Function must encompass Eaton business requirements, market forces, positioning of commodities, supplier relationship and performance management approach, cost breakdown –  cost models – cost out opportunities, risk analysis including barriers to change.
  • You will monitor market evolution, perform market intelligence research including global sourcing opportunities and currency fluctuations as well as future trends both technical and environmental. Category management also needs to closely align with Hydraulics Enterprise Organization, the ferrous casting strategic plan and Americas Region manufacturing strategies.
  • You will lead ferrous casting projects through Eaton Standard Sourcing Process to define scope and requirements, complete risk planning and user technical reviews, manage the request for proposal process with external suppliers, manage APQP (Advanced Part Quality planning) phase of project, and manage project multifunctional phase gate reviews. Track status and planning in GPS (Global Procurement SharePoint).
  • You will leverage Eaton Hydraulics' spend and optimize Supply processes in order to achieve year over year net cost out requirements, and improve supplier performance (delivery, quality and payment) throughout the supply chain
  • You will support classification of ferrous casting suppliers into “Strategic”, “Maintain”, “Eliminate“ and coordinate execution of plants to convert spend to either “Strategic” or “Maintain” supply base. Measure and address non-compliance in usage.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Min 5 years’ experience with significant direct experience in managing procurement, supply and spend management.
  • No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates must live within 50 miles of Eden Prairie, MN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supply chain management, engineering or business degree preferred.
  • Ferrous Casting Experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cost drivers –  Understanding of market conditions; Understands technical specifications, product performance requirements, supply chain processes, and end user expectations
 
Position Criteria:
  • Own Americas Region execution of sourcing activities for Ferrous Casting Commodities (raw and machined):
    • Negotiate and manage region-wide contracts with Suppliers.
    • Support and lead cost out projects.
    • Drive regional supply consolidation.
    • Build and maintain supplier relationship; introduce supplier collaboration where appropriate.
    • Assist Eaton plants in negotiating difficult situations, winning concessions without damaging relationships.
  • Build and maintain positive strong relationships and performance management structure with strategic supply base.
  • Develop key suppliers to achieve financial and performance targets.
  • Monitor supplier capacity and address gaps proactively and efficiently.
  • Organize and lead Quarterly Business Review with the key Suppliers.
  • Develop an Action plan by key supplier and follow up action items, drive continuous improvement and translate into a Pipeline of cost out projects.
  • Drive innovation; identify, build business case, submit and implement efficient supply chain management solutions, structures, programs, technologies and systems.
  • Adhere to Eaton ethics and code of conduct
  • Ability to understand the business needs, technical and functional requirements at plant and regional level
  • Demonstrated success in the development and execution of Commodity management strategies and driving year over year cost-out. Knowledge of global sourcing, material planning & replenishment models, international & domestic transportation, global trade regulations.
  • Possesses intimate knowledge of Industry trends and risks, incl. regulatory environment
  • Professional functional experiences in following areas: needs / specifications gathering, bidding, negotiation, supplier recommendation & selection, transition planning, program deployment, supplier management including supplier relationship and supplier performance management. Area of focus also includes business continuity planning & risk mitigation.
  • Ability to develop and negotiate effective commercial contracts on behalf of Eaton.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to a diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, operations and supply chain management.
  • Results oriented. Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation.
