Eaton’s Lighting division is currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor – 2nd Shift to  join our team. This position is based at our Mississauga, Canada  facility.

 

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the warehousing function in Mississauga pertaining to the storage and shipment of finished goods. In this role, you will  ensure all related standards and objectives with respect to cost, efficiency, personnel and health and safety are implemented and maintained.

  • Responsible for the timely shipment of finished goods to required destinations based on assigned priorities and in communication with sales, marketing and operations personnel

  • Directs and maintains a motivated staff committed to department and facility objectives

  • Coordinating the adjustment of staffing levels as appropriate and through consultation with other supervisors and the Operations Manager.

  • Provides visible leadership and guidance to all warehouse staff to foster continuous improvements and best practices.

  • Maintains continuous engagement with all warehouse stakeholders.

  • Coach, train and develop warehouse personnel to ensure accountability, in addition to goal and priority alignment; foster collaboration and common goal-setting in a matrix environment.

  • On an annual basis, assists in setting objectives in conjunction with the Operations Manager with respect to productivity, accuracy, deliveries, service levels, costs and health and safety. Regularly reviews these objectives and reacts and plans accordingly.

  • Maintain data accuracy in areas such as attendance, quality and productivity metrics as well as identify and implement any corrective actions.

  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment in the shipping department

  •  Ensures required reports, daily checklists, and employee certifications are maintained accordingly to policy.

  •  Responsible for 5S, safety and quality procedures in department and ensuring employees receive effective and timely training in safe work practices.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety by participating in site health and safety activities.

  • Observe safety policies, report unsafe acts, hazards, and maintain clean and orderly department.

  • Lead by example; visibly and actively support other functional plant initiatives including 5S, quality, wellness, engagement, etc.

  • Responsible for being knowledgeable of and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, provincial and organizational regulations.

  • Responsible for communicating and coordinating activity between customer service and the operations group locally and at division level

  • Responsible for maintaining service levels in accordance with set objectives.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:


  • Three-year college diploma from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory position.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 80 kilometres of Mississauga, ON, Canada facility will be considered



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Supply chain training or experience.

  • Inventory control experience.

  • Lean certifications.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

  • SAP experience.



Position Success Criteria:


  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
