Job Description

Eaton’s Vehicle Sector has a cooperative employment opportunity for a student enrolled in an engineering program at the Marshall, MI facility.

The primary function of the cooperative candidate is to be responsible for assisting in the development of automotive boosting technology. This individual will work with senior product engineers to deliver solutions to challenging product improvement and optimization projects.

This role will work flexible part time hours during the Spring, Fall and Winter Semesters and the ability to work full-time during the summer.

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Support product engineers in development and execution of analysis and test plans to improve product performance

  • Communicate design or analysis plans, status, and results to senior engineers and leadership

  • Develop detailed engineering documentation materials including technical reports and design guides

  • Collaborate with suppliers, internal laboratories and fabrication facilities to ensure the successful completion of product development and validation testing

  • Work in a team environment to identify process, product, and reliability improvements

  • Perform failure root cause analysis and problem solving within a team to identify and isolate product issues and recommend solutions


Basic Qualifications:
  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree program in Science or Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required (please do not round)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship currently or in the future

  • Relocation is not provided for this role, candidates must reside within 50 miles of Marshall, MI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University student currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Engineering knowledge and experience in product development

  • Demonstrated problem solving and failure analysis skills

  • Self-motivated and possessing a drive for results
