This exciting role is a part of Aerospace group and the individual will be responsible for design and certification of Aerospace hydraulic pump and motors along with the architecture design and studies, requirements development and flow-down, system integration, and certification compliance.  The position will coordinate across the Fuel & Motion Control Systems Division (FMC) Hydraulic sites to support these projects.


A successful candidate will need knowledge and have prior experience of Aerospace hydraulic and actuation systems and components, be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, and lead system and sub-system level projects.

Your essential responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring for Aerospace hydraulic product Engineers and related CoE team at EIIC to develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, safety, cost and manufacturability.

  • Drive growth in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas with in hydraulic domain

  • Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer. Review and approve design proposals based on requirements/statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers.

  • Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design in line with present and future business needs.

  • Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders.

  • Work as a team member to fulfil technical requirements of deliverables by providing the solutions

  • Identify, manage and monitor risk and opportunity in the context of team (based on the defined scope aligned to global milestones)

  • Deliver team deliverables on time to budget, and to specifications

  • Participate in the creation of technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization’s capability.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.

  • Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent, disclosures and high-impact ideas.

  • Develop six sigma initiatives within the group to improve quality, speed of execution


If you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university

  • Minimum 8+ years of system, product design, development, and/or production design problem resolution experience. 

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience on Aerospace hydraulic product design and development.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills working with a cross-functional team.

  • Strong communication and collaboration with internal and external customers.

  • High level of creativity and strategic thinking

  • Experience with the following:

  • Requirements development including product flow-down and traceability

  • System architecture design and analysis

  • Project engineering

  • Control system design

  • System integration and verification

  • Requirements compliance

  • Certification compliance – SAE ARP 4754A

  • Product design and certification aligned with hydraulic and/or electrical actuation components

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university

  • 6+ years of technical leadership in aerospace hydraulic product design

  • Design for Six Sigma or Six-Sigma (DMAIC) Greenbelt
