System Specialist Engineer – Fuels



Working within our award-winning fuel systems team, you will coordinate multi-disciplined system fuel and fuel tank inerting projects from design to implementation and serves as an expert resource for other engineers.  Reviews project deliverables to ensure accuracy.



Your key deliverables:

  • Ensures that technical, regulatory and commercial requirements are properly understood, and that the system design implementation meets these requirements

  • Leads the system architecture and component definition for aircraft fuel and fuel tank inerting systems, conducting trade studies to substantiate the design decisions.

  • Leads the development of derived requirements from performance, safety and control logic analysis.

  • Produces validation, verification and integration artefacts to support certification.

  • Acts as technical point of contact with customer and with internal teams – EIEC and CoEs

  • Represents the organisation at customer technical meetings and design reviews

  • Maintains the project metrics to support internal technical and project management reviews.   System level DFSS and T-review deliverables.

  • Teaches and leads problem solving methodology such as 8D



Are you?



  • Knowledge of aerospace systems engineering processes

  • Knowledge of civil aviation regulations governing system design

  • Knowledge of aerospace safety, reliability and maintainability processes and practices

  • Knowledge of fluid and thermodynamic principles applicable to aircraft fuel systems, fuel tank inerting and fuel tank venting systems desirable

  • Knowledge of system control theory and techniques desirable

  • Knowledge of ARINC429 databus interface protocols desirable

  • Degree or equivalent in mechanical, aeronautical or systems engineering

  • Professional manner and ability to work well with customers

  • Ability to present at internal and external technical and commercial reviews at senior level

  • Communication skills– both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports

  • Organizational and planning skills
