Eaton’s eMobility Division is currently seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Southfield, MI facility.

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the successful oversight and execution of the portfolio management process and enterprise system associated with product development, industrialization projects, and other investments that place demands on eMobility organizational resources.  Partner with the business leaders and program managers to deliver on business case cost and benefit commitments across the eMobility Product Portfolios.

  • You will lead the eMobility project portfolio management review and approval process leveraging inputs from related business processes including product road mapping, annual planning, front-end bid and proposal processes, base product development and customer specific projects.    
  • You will engage in new business proposal evaluations by partnering with business partners on product strategy and product roadmap initiatives.
  • You will drive and influence the annual portfolio target setting, investment prioritization methodology, and water lining activity to provide a full view of investment cost and benefit.
  • You will establish and execute effective internal and external stakeholder communication strategies that address all stakeholder needs including eMobility SLT, finance partners, product strategy partners, engineering leaders, and program managers.
  • You will maintain a pulse on potential portfolio adjustments and facilitate a routine change management review.
  • You will drive process efficiency and embed agility and transparency into the review and reporting of financials associated with ideas and projects within the active portfolio.    
  • You will support business partners and program managers in establishing organizational resource management plans that clearly align the investment funding to the resource needs and capacity. 
  • You will partner with finance, engineering, and program management to effectively execute the actuals and forecast process for project accounting.  Drive continuous improvement and alignment with business partners among the project accounting finance processes (monthly actuals/forecast spend, annual planning, and strategic planning).

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Portfolio Management, Program Management or a combination of Portfolio Management, Financial Management, and Program Management.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Relocation is not offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of Southfield, MI will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in Portfolio Management, Program Management or a combination of Portfolio Management, Financial Management, and Program Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP)
  • Previous leader of people experience
  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Knowledge of passenger car and commercial vehicle product/markets
  • Knowledge of electronics products and manufacturing processes
  • Product management or product strategy experience
Position Criteria:
  • Demonstrated leadership style that is consistent with Eaton expectations of leaders (ethical, passionate, accountable, efficient, transparent, learner). 
  • Fully Proficient in Portfolio Management and knowledgeable in Program and Project Management methodologies processes and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to make necessary status reports and presentations to Eaton and Customer senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen skills.
