Position Overview:


Eaton’s Electrical Product Group is seeking a Sr. Manager Financial Planning and Analysis for its Crouse Hinds Division.  This position will be located in Syracuse, NY.


Reporting to the VP of Finance for Eaton Crouse-Hinds, this person will lead the Performance Controlling and Financial Planning & Analysis for Crouse-Hinds globally.  The Sr Manager FP&A will also track and challenge the performance of business units and the Division against both tactical fiscal budgets as well as long-term strategic objectives.  The position requires a high level of detailed analysis in a complex organization, and the ability to be highly responsive and accurate.  This person will interact with a wide range of people across Eaton and requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly, and to communicate with people in all parts of the world.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Implement best practices as it relates to financial planning and analysis including processes, systems, tools and techniques across the organization to create a set of global standards
  • Analyze historic performance to understand root-cause of issues and supports improvement efforts going-forward; proactively perform forward-looking analysis and identify areas of improvement for management attention
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on all FP&A related matters, ensures compliance with corporate reporting guidelines and standards, and represents Crouse-Hinds for all FP&A matters outside the Division 
  • Lead and manage all financial aspects for Crouse-Hinds Division, including the strategic plan, annual profit plan and in-year forecasting
  • Partner with the VP Engineering on R&D performance vs. budget, NPI tracking, assistance with product road mapping and development and execution on key strategic initiatives
  • Partner with the VP marketing on product line reporting, development and execution on growth initiatives, establishment and administration of vertical market indicators, and perform competitor analysis
  • Partner with the VP HR on development and execution of headcount activities, ensures proper alignment of headcount to the financials, and assists with the development and administration of bonus/commission plans 
  • Partner with the VP Operations to drive cost productivity across the business. Lead regular meetings, validate data and actively provide recommendations and improvement opportunities
  • Drive Working Capital management through oversight of inventory, receivables and capex
  • Responsible for building organizational capability across the Finance function; Direct oversight of four finance professionals
  • Lead special projects for President of Crouse-Hinds and provide support to Mergers & Acquisition activity
  • Partner with Accounting, Treasury and Tax as appropriate

Basic Qualifications:
  • 9+ years broad financial experience within manufacturing organizations.  Proven managerial capability
  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of US GAAP, an understanding of international business, and a working knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Encore) are requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing organization preferred 

An undergraduate degree is required.  A Master’s Degree is preferred
