Distribution Operations Manager
Location: Pohorelice, Czech Republic
The main role of the North (NE) and Central, Eastern European (CEE) Distribution Center Operations Manager is to ensure performance targets are delivered in all of our distribution centers in NE and CEE.
The role will predominantly focus on the Electrical Sector Distribution Centers in Brno, Czech Republic and Coalville, UK, both of which are operated by DHL, however, the expectation of this role is to provide functional leadership for all ES and IS distribution centers/warehouses in the region, and to ensure that we actively leverage best practices at an EMEA and global level.
Aside from general warehouse responsibilities this position is also responsible for our Eaton late point definition center (LPDC) located at the Brno, Distribution center.
The position will own the relationship with
all 3PL providers in the region, which includes 3PL contracts in excess of $6m
Develop a strategic vision / objectives for the distribution centers in NE/CEE in linkage with the EMEA SC Ops strategy and in coordination with other DC/warehouse managers in region.
Actively seek and explore alternative strategic solutions and build business cases for them. E.g. Make vs. Buy ; Automation vs. Manual ; IT changes etc.
Manage and develop:
multi million dollar budget and identify and prioritise investment opportunities to help further improve service levels and cost efficiencies.
warehouse operations organisation leadership team and associated indirect workers.
transport, trade management, materials management, order management functions on site in conjunction with the regional respective leaders.
Develop, agree and roll out an optimized distribution logistic structure depending on the regional conditions (e.g. labor costs, distribution market, degree of automation).
Develop the location further in regards to performance, cost targets and objectives (rationalization, identification of potential opportunities of improvement and risk).
LPDC center to become a regional and best-in-class operation adding value to our customers.
Senior experience in supply chain field in a distribution centre
SAP knowledge desirable
