Eaton’s LD Lighting division is currently seeking a Software Product owner to join our team. This position is based at our Peachtree City, GA. facility.



The Software Product Owner will be responsible to deliver best possible enterprise lighting management application that will unlock the true value of Eaton’s connected lighting system. The enterprise lighting management application will be hosted on Eaton’s on-premise and Cloud IoT platform. In this role you will closely interact with product line managers, architects, development leads, IT and technology partners.

 You will understand the lighting control and smart buildings market needs by working closely with product line managers, sales/agents representatives, primary and secondary VOC, industry analysis/research and personal experience.

  • You will work closely with the product line managers (wired, wireless control systems) to translate their requirements defined as epics into detailed requirements as user stories.

  • You will work closely with the User Experience team and other software/hardware Product/Service Owners to ensure an elegant end-to-end “customer experience”.

  • You will work closely with the software development team by providing vision and direction to the software development team. As such the product owner will be attending daily scrums, sprint planning meetings and retrospectives. The product owner will also contribute to the design and architecture meetings.

  • You will manage the product backlog by prioritizing the user stories that best achieve the goals and objectives of the business.  The product owner will actively mitigate risks and issues impacting successful team completion of goals.

  • You will conduct User Acceptance Tests to ensure the integrity and quality of the final software deliverable.

  • You will support product line managers with the market introduction activities by providing demos and helping train all stakeholders.

  • You will contribute to the multi-generation planning activities to define the roadmap for the enterprise lighting application.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Computer Science or Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Previous working experience in software development or similar function for 2 years in an agile environment

  • Experience in one of the systems used in building automation ( Lighting, BAS, HVAC, Security, Access Control)

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a fifty mile radius of the geographical area will be considered

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scrum PO certification PSPO1 or 2 or Scrum Master or equivalent certification

  • Experience with Jira and/or other online software development management tools preferred

  • Participation in Strategic Product Planning and Product Road mapping

  • Marketing and collateral development, including specification and technical writing
