Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Eaton’s Electrical division has an opening for a Sr Manufacturing Engineer. The position is located at the Reno, NV Facility.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling overall manufacturing engineering as a functional leader. The primary responsibility involves driving advancements in productivity, product cost, quality, and/or the maintenance of the plant facilities, equipment and production processes. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing engineering function. This includes capital equipment, continuous improvement, capacity expansion and technology investment projects. They will perform engineering tasks related to product and process time standards, production and manpower planning, capital projects and process design, startup and modification.

You will serve as a critical member of the Plant Management Staff to ensure daily adherence to the manufacturing process and continuous improvement of the process to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory metrics.
You will interface directly with all levels of manufacturing and product engineering, and be responsible for process improvements and controls, machine capacity/capability studies, equipment selection and qualification, and adherence to company procedures and quality standards.
You will design, procure, and implement fabrication, fixture and manufacturing equipment.
You will identify and meet the need for application of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methods, including development and execution of productive maintenance and corrective and preventative action plans & systems.
You will assist in design, maintenance and interpretation of meaningful and accurate performance measurement systems to increase production efficiency and cost effectiveness.
You will troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing equipment issues and write engineering documents to support changes.
You will apply cost containment principals when purchasing goods and services. Be able to operate within and below budget expectations.
You will actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established MESH policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
You will initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities. Participate as required in problem solving teams, kaizen events, cross functional committees, and multi-discipline initiatives.
You will participate in lean daily management system (LDMS) activities and support the factory tier process as required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience
No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of (Reno) to be considered.

Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to conceptualize, define and resolve complex problems.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to effectively interface multiple cross-functional teams.
Master’s Degree in Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 2 years of capital management AND/OR project management
Minimum 1 year of lean manufacturing experience.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Experience in equipment, tooling, and fixture design.
SAP business system experience.
