This exciting role will be responsible responsible for contributing technologies which can change the economics of communication software. You will validate embedded systems, generate IP, plan and execute field trials to understand their needs, and work closely with the team to assess business impact and constraints. You must be proficient with current firmware development and testing technology, tools and practices, and have capabilities in quickly learning and developing a large set of communication protocol technologies, languages Python, C++, and Real time operating systems
Your essential responsibilities:
Contribute to the software development efforts through the design and implementation of world class, high-performance and communications platform firmware.
Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions.
Work directly with stakeholders, engineering and test to create high quality products that solve customer problems.
Propose and provide innovative, competitive technical solutions which can make significant business impact and provide value to stakeholders.
Provide work estimates and conduct design, implementation, and code reviews.
Develop and execute plans for incremental and interactive project delivery.
Author high-quality unit-tested code.
Work with test team to ensure adequate and appropriate test case coverage; investigate and fix bugs
If you are:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Electronics/Electrical Engineering
Desired: Master’s degree in Computer Science /Electronics/Electrical Engineering
6+ years as a software developer or test utilizing object-oriented design techniques on embedded systems.
3+ years of extensive experience in programming through Python, C++(preferred), data structures.
3+ years of extensive experience in creating / enhancing test frameworks for embedded systems.
2+ years of experience with RTOS platforms for embedded devices.
1+ years of experience in any one of device level IP communication including Industrial Ethernet protocols (EtherNet/IP, ModbusTCP, Profinet, BACNet, 61850). – Preferred (communication protocols)
Experience in scripting language like Python/Perl.
Extensive experience in at least one of the device level field bus technologies -Modbus, DeviceNet, Profibus DP, BACNet.
Experience in agile scrum methodology.
Experience utilizing best practices in software engineering.
Strong problem solving and embedded software debugging skills.
Review own work as well as others work in formal design and quality reviews.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with respect to written and oral communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts.
Improve engineering design and product support processes.
Performs and contributes to technical research & investigations.
Experience working on device level connectivity platforms.
Experience with cloud connectivity protocols such as MQTT, LWM2M, Web socket.
