Vice President, Human Resources
As the Vice President of Human Resources you will take a leading role in shaping an organizational culture of innovation and collaboration. The Vice President will develop, structure, and operate an HR organization that delivers consistent and flexible experiences, tools, and services throughout the business that help enable the business to remain ahead of emerging trends in work, the workplace, and the workforce. The Vice President will help Focus HR capability development on teams, networks, and the future of work that leverages inclusion, trust, and transparency towards a culture of innovation and future-orientation. The VP HR partners with the PSD President, Division VP Operations, & Division VP Finance to lead a division operating with $1.1B in revenue. The business includes approximately 3,000 employees across 11 engineering & manufacturing sites in Wisconsin, New York, Texas, and South Carolina, USA, with two sites in Guadalajara and Queretaro, Mexico.
Shapes a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability throughout the division. Partners with the division leadership and functional leaders to build a multi-year talent strategy to ensure PSD has the right succession of talent to achieve long-term goals. Ensure all leaders understand their roles as talent generators - focus on the success of talent from recruitment, onboarding, promoting, and retention through a purposeful and strategic use of powerful people analytics and data that will focus the organization’s direction for the future. Drive unified plans with measurable objectives that support business, financial and employee engagement goals
Strategic People Leadership:
Breaks down silos and integrates thoroughly with the business. Partner with senior leaders to develop the people strategy that is Increasingly easy, agile, and flexible supporting collaboration and teams; serve as the strategic HR leader on current and future trends in areas such as talent, culture, and external implications. Drives innovation towards the future throughout the organization. Drive positive employee relations to provide an optimal work environment for all employees.
HR Operational Excellence:
Regenerates the operating model and develops its capabilities continuously through the deployment of Eaton programs, ensuring quality of process and content and alignment with the business strategy to achieve goals and objectives. Optimize organizational design methodology to focus on continuous improvement and organizational efficiencies with clear orientation towards the future of the workforce.
Build high performance organizational capability through leadership and partnership with the leaders on the talent management processes including acquisition, assessment, performance management, employee development, succession planning and retention. Drive a worker-centric approach to the workplace, HR, and management practices that impact people on the job. This should include design thinking, an outside-in perspective, and treating the workforce like customers. Manage and develop employee compensation/reward and recognition programs, driving pay-for-performance culture aligned with business objectives. Foster a culture of leader ownership and accountability of the employee life cycle.
Trusted Advisor :
Serve as a thought leader and trusted counsel to the PSD President to lead continuous and sustainable transformation across the organization. Provide thought leadership to the HR organization and business leaders on Talent strategy and design, organizational culture, leadership capabilities and labor relations. Authentically model and champion Eaton’s leadership attributes, and ensures focus and progress on diversity, equity, and inclusion journey. Develop and implement solutions to organizational challenges by leading/coaching others through change.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibility in progressive HR environment.
Knowledge of relevant local/state/federal/provincial employment laws.
Minimum of 7 years leading experienced HR Leaders.
Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
MBA or Masters Degree in Human Resources
Prior US labor experience at a plant or divisional level
Prior divisional HR leadership experience with facilities in Mexico
Significant experience with development of HR processes and strategies, leadership, and organizational development & design.
Demonstrated strategic thinking capability and business acumen; prior leadership experience as strategic HR business partner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Business writing expertise.
Excellent facilitation/coaching skills. Strong employee relations skills with the proven ability to drive change and leadership ownership/accountability.
Strong leader of people with proven capability to empower, motivate and develop others.
Strong drive for results and sense of urgency; data and metrics-driven. Strong project management skills with ability to lead a cross-functional business team.
Strong assessor of talent with proven experience in managing and upgrading talent.
Ability to work in a matrixed environment.
