We are looking forward to an IT BRM in Eaton’s electrical business, based in Shanghai, China.

This exciting role is the primary point of contact for a sub-set of IT services and strategic projects. The BRM will be responsible for:

  • Identifying opportunities, projects, builds consensus across customer base and IT, develops business cases to secure funding, Spans multiple business functions. 

  • Ensuring scope of projects are well-defined for transition to delivery COEs.

  • Ensuring all stakeholders are engaged, projects are completed and return on investment is realized.

  • Reviewing escalated issues for scope and clarity, vetting, documenting and routing through the appropriate support mechanisms.

  • Delivery assurance of medium and large-sized initiatives leveraging the COEs.

  • Ensuring effective level of support for existing systems/processes.

  • Ensuring significant projects are delivered effectively and reliably to meet the strategic business objectives, acting as DGC members.

  • Ensuring all stakeholders are engaged, projects are completed and return on investment is realized.

  • Directionally aligning to Electrical APAC Power Quality Division (PQD), Electronics Division (ELX), East Asia (EA).

  • Demonstrating Financial Acumen through CAR preparation, budget management and profit planning.

  • Directionally aligning to SVP/VP/GM level leadership in APAC.

  • Performing vendor management and contract, negotiations and reviews.

  • Involving complex process and organizational change management.

Your essential responsibilities:

  • Strategic Responsibilities:

    • Ensure IT alignment with customer strategy - customer advocate

    • Ensure customer alignment with IT strategy and IT guiding principles

    • Eliminate projects that are not aligned with the IT strategy, have weak business benefits or are duplicate solutions to existing enterprise software portfolio

    • Ensure solutions aligned with and supports architecture standards.  Partner with architecture team if no standard exists

    • Responsible to customer for service provider success

    • Trusted advisor and introduce innovation

  • BOC – influence IT structures that support our customers -  COEs, development, production support

  • Tactical Responsibilities:

    • Ensure appropriate customer communication & IT response during significant incidents

    • Communicate customer issues/needs within IT. Point of contact for customer escalations and complaints

    • Establish customer project priorities & communicate within IT

    • Accountable for defining OC with project sponsor.  Accountable for capturing and reporting OC after reviewing with and gaining approval from project sponsor

    • Develop/manage customer IT project portfolio (book of business) and IT profit plan

    • Attend Customer Reviews: communicate IT budget status, project status, key IT programs that impact them, key production support issues, communicate within IT key business objectives/initiatives, business strategy/objectives changes, budget changes, prioritization changes

    • Distribute annual stakeholder survey & develop/track follow-up actions

  • Internal IT:

    • Disaster Recovery: Ensure plan is at appropriate tier, level of detail and is executable

    • Disaster Recovery: Participate in DR test & validate DR results

    • Sox Validation Gaps: Ensure closure through IT and/or operations


If you are:

  • 12-15 years of IT Application experience, including 3+ years direct Project Management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and Masters would be preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of the overall business or responsible functions.
  • May be a SME in one or more areas / technologies.
  • Advanced understanding of organizational structure (business and IT).
  • Intermediate understanding of the business Strategic Plan.
  • Intermediate to an Advanced understanding of some of the business processes at Eaton or a prior Company.
  • Intermediate understanding of financial processes.
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of some of Eaton key application(s.)
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of integration and impact points of involved systems globally for a division or function.
  • Prior Management experience preferred but not required
