This exciting role will support the mechanical design for Crouse Hinds New Product Introduction projects, Value Analysis projects and custom designs per the defined scope and schedule.


The person in this position will have to execute ECN requests as per divisional standards based on the specific requirements and communicate effectively.


Your essential responsibilities:


  • Supports independently for the mechanical design (engineering drawings, specification, & documentations) for Crouse Hinds products based on the functional specification & the customer specification. Practices role of ECN coordinator for delivering On-Time, meeting expected quality.

  • Studies the product offerings in depth, compares them with competitors, identifies the gaps, and connects his /her contributions to broader picture.

  • Develops concepts based on the product specifications, generates detailed drawings for prototypes, creates and executes test plans for validating the concepts under guidance.

  • Conducts and develops the Boundary diagram, Parameter Diagram and Design Failure Mode Effect Analyses.

  • Develops the models/drawings using SOLIDWORKS according to the developed concepts.

  • Conducts GD&T definition and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis per project requirement.

  • Creates a master BOM per the product specification, manages the BOM management and supports process development through design for manufacturability.

  • Analyzes and defines component material and performance requirements of new or modified products.

  • Releases mechanical design for the product, process, and production thru ECN via. SAP PLM or Enovia.

  • Gathers the design changes from product design engineer and updates the existing designs in case of existing products.

  • Conducts root cause analysis to identify causes for product problems and recommends solutions suitable for the preferred manufacturing method or process.







If you are:

  • Bachelor of Engineer / Technology in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute.

  • 3 to 4 years of experience (after qualification) with electro-mechanical design of products. Some prior experience related to Power Distribution product design is preferred.

  • Competent in developing concept and detailed drawings based on the product specifications, and in preparing and executing test plans for validating the concepts.

  • Competent in developing the process and capability to handle sustaining engineering projects.

  • Knowledgeable about materials (plastics, metal, glass, ceramic, etc.) properties, manufacturing process considerations, etc.

  • Knowledgeable about tooling and process (injection molding, die casting, etc.)

  • Has application knowledge of bill of materials structure of electromechanical products.

  • Has application knowledge and skill with ERP systems such as SAP and Enovia.

  • Familiarity with ANSI, NEMA, UL, IEC and other applicable standards for electrical components will be an added advantage. Hazloc experience will be highly desirable.

  • Should assume the responsibility for all technical project activities including the execution of high level product design elements.

  • Must be capable of making engineering judgment regarding product problems and be able to recommend solutions suitable for the preferred manufacturing method or process.

  • Ability to operate complex processes in a system-mediated environment.

  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to customers, and technical staff.
