Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.

  • You will function as the quality lead for supplier specification quality training for receiving inspection.

  • You will perform initial assessments and periodic audits of supplier quality systems for approving new suppliers and verifying continuing supplier conformance to quality system requirements.

  • You will initiate and follow-up supplier corrective actions to ensure complete and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  • You will act as liaison for the supplier and the company to resolve nonconformances and quality problems effectively by interacting and communicating with engineering, purchasing, planning, program quality engineers and various levels of management of the supplier and the company.

  • You will participate as a member of the Material Review Board to review and disposition supplier related Nonconformance Material Reports as required.

  • You will develop appropriate and effective supplier metrics to monitor effectiveness of supplier quality control system and processes.

  • You will develop and assist with implementation of supplier quality control and process control plans as required for supplier operations.

  • You will develop and implement statistical process controls of supplier processes as appropriate or when required by customers.

  • You will supervise, train and direct 4-5 hourly Operators.

  • You will lead the SCM team to develop supplier performance reports and process. As well as Front Line Leader for the receiving inspection team

  • You will lead the SCM team in development of certified supplier process.

  • You will develop positive relationships and effective lines of communication with suppliers.

  • You will participate as internal auditor for process audits of AS9100/ISO 9001:2000 quality management system.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of work experience in a Supplier Quality, Supplier Development or Quality role
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field
  • Three (3) years of work experience in a Supplier Quality role
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements including GD&T.
  • Experience using PC configured with MS Windows OS. Familiarity with MS Office software is desired
  • 3 years of aerospace experience
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred.
  • Experience in performing Quality Audits.
  • Technical proficiency in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) models
Position Success Criteria:
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements including GD&T.
  • Familiarity or experience with machining, welding, assembly operations, gauging, APQP, and Quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Project Management experience is preferred.
