Eaton Corporation’s Industrial Controls Division (ICD) has an opening for a Global Product Line Manager located in Menomonee Falls, WI.

 

This position will reside in the divisional headquarters building, which houses engineering for multiple product lines as well as marketing, sales, finance, and R&D.  The facility was built in 2012 and boasts an open office layout surrounded by large windows, as well as 50,000+ square feet of onsite state-of-the-art laboratory space, an onsite fitness center, basketball court, Ping-Pong, employee lounge, and grill & patio. With eight Eaton facilities and more than 1600 employees located in Southeastern Wisconsin, Eaton’s local footprint enables our employees with state of the art laboratories and access to manufacturing, all while providing ample opportunities for development and career growth within region.

 

The Global Product Line Manager will be responsible for a cross-functional team with primary responsibility for all Marketing, Customer Support, Aftermarket, Flex Center and ETO Engineering functions for the Variable Frequency Drives product line. This includes global strategy development, business planning, product roadmapping, training, new product introductions, product lifecycle management, profit planning, price realization, margin, sales execution, and monthly financial reporting.

   

Essential Functions:

  • Ownership of P&L for the product line to meet all financial commitments, exceeding sales, market share, price realization, profit, and cost out goals.

  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of an organization, both internal and external, including executives as well as key customer and supplier contacts

  • Ownership of performance management, goal setting, development planning and coaching for all team members

  • Partner with marketing communications team to develop and coordinate marketing communications materials for all sales channels and customers, related to product value proposition messaging, new product launches, channel promotions, product news

  • Be knowledgeable about technical benefits of product offering, competitor capabilities and practices, and market conditions to support development of customer use cases primarily in the pumping, HVAC, industrial, and OEM markets.

  • Support execution of Place, Product, Promotion, Price, and People commercial programs

  • Focus on process improvement around monthly reporting, developing a system of leading indicators, and incorporating new technology into existing processes

  • Conduct voice of the customer activities (customer visits, industry association participation, general market research) that fuel a robust new product and services funnel. 

  • Responsible for Global Product Line strategic planning, product roadmapping, product water-lining, and GPL senior management review activities

  • Define and implement product marketing and sales planning strategies that include opportunities for organic growth as well as identifying and nurturing third party partnerships/joint ventures. 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Prior management experience, including managing managers

  • Knowledge of basic financial statements, prior P&L ownership helpful

  • 5-7 years of experience in the motor control, industrial automation or other manufacturing industry

  • 3-5 years in technical sales or product marketing

 

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to set a clear strategic vision for the future and motivate the organization to achieve that vision

  • Technical knowledge of motor control and/or automation products or demonstrated technical aptitude to learn the applications for assigned products

  • Excellence in continuous prioritization of work, strategy development, and analytical skills

  • Ability to effectively and impactfully present to both small and large audiences of all levels of an organization

  • Position requires the willingness to work in a global team environment

  • Position requires computer skills including Microsoft Applications

  • Up to 40% travel required, including international travel

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cross-functional global teams and/or prior international work assignment

  • Master’s degree in business administration or similar

  • Experience working with low voltage drives and related products, including an understanding of IoT impact on industrial control products, including marketing subscription revenue platforms

  • Experience with steering new product development projects and processes

  • Foreign language proficiency a plus
