This exciting role is a part of Aerospace group and the individual will be responsible to design and develop aerospace related pneumatic joints solutions to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirements including safety, reliability and conformance to standards. 

Your essential responsibilities:
  • Lead projects/programs/teams related to new product development (NPD), value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) and sustaining engineering (SE) through the execution of these programs/projects in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives

  • Capturing customer voice, Understanding and Executing milestones, Conducting technical and project Reviews, Communication and on job development and learning

  • Performs complex engineering assignments, involving product design, testing and compliance to specifications, process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch

  • Utilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements

  • Creation of 3D models and drawings of the new product designs and modification of existing drawings and models

  • Sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group

  • Drives PRO-Launch execution for NPI programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan and attaining all engineering deliverables per activity matrix

  • Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & acts as a technical resource for internal / external customers and resolves technical challenges

  • Resolve technical issues and road blocks impacting assigned projects by taking quick and timely decisions which are well supported by design calculations, engineering analysis and prediction methodology

  • Maintain credible communication practice with stakeholders on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures


If you are:


  • B.E/B.Tech with 3+ years’ experience or ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or related engineering area with 1+ years of engineering/product design experience in relevant domain

  • Proven track record in engineering Design, Analysis, R&D, application engineering domain

  • Expertise in Manufacturing Processes and Product qualification testing to analyze current product designs and manufacturing processes.

  • Have good awareness on 'Should costing' approaches utilizing cost models and analysis results.

  • Cross functional project execution experience with Cost out project focus.

  • Knowledge of cost out (VAVE) framework such as standardization and various types of costs (Overheads, material, labor, re-engineering, testing costs).

  • Preferably should have graduated to a certification equivalent to Value Methodology Practitioner (VMP) by SAVE international

  • Experience in handling Design for Manufacturing, DFMEA & DVPR

  • Experience in projects involving significant amount of CAD, FEA, CFD & System modeling

  • Proficiency in CAD tools; Preferably ProE / CATIA and experience with PLM tool

  • Hard working ability and desire for excellence in executing projects

  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Root Cause Analysis
