As Quality Manager, you will provide overall quality leadership to the organization. You will drive the continuous improvement efforts throughout the operation in support of Total Quality Leadership and the Eaton Business System. You will manage the Quality strategy of the organization to facilitate continuous production and improvement of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. You will communicate and coordinate Customer satisfaction on behalf of the Plant in conjunction with the EMEA Quality and Warranty Manager and the Plant LT.to actively participate in continuous improvement activities to improve the Quality KPIs in all areas of manufacturing by deploying Eaton Quality System (EQS) and Eaton Business System (EBS). You will be responsible for managing, addressing and resolving customer quality issues through timely response and appropriate actions which meet the customer's requirements and/or exceed the customer's expectations. You will coordinate and lead the resolution of customer quality issues, while also managing the Quality Assurance strategy.


Your key deliverables:

  • Be a driving force & change leader in insuring a strong and committed culture of quality throughout the organization.

  • Develop and implement a Quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives of the Plant and lead the efforts to integrate quality needs into the development of short and long-term improvement plans. This includes leading/supporting the operation in the implementation and improvement of Quality Management Systems.

  • Provide Quality interface and expertise between the operation and its customers to proactively identify or anticipate their needs and expectations and ensure they are understood and satisfied.  This includes the complaint management system and the corrective/preventive action process related to customer issues – with feedback (Customer and Division) – and the coordination of customer visits and audits.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Eaton Business System (EBS) with expertise in the tools related to Quality (e.g. – EQS, BSC, EBEA, Corporate Quality Policy, Ethics, Vision, Mission, Values, Philosophy, Organizational Capability Assessment, and Corporate Accounts).  Appropriate levels of this knowledge must be transferred to all subordinates as part of their personal development.

  • Lead the deployment and integration of the Eaton Quality System (EQS) and Quality Leading Indicators (QLI) strategy into the EMEA Quality Management System; conjunction with Industry Quality System standards (ISO/TS, ISO 9000,14001,18000,17025).

  • Analyze key organizational quality metrics related to the Balanced Scorecard (e.g. – Customer Returns DPPM, Internal Quality, Scrap, Cost of Nonconformance, and Supplier Quality) and perform periodic reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at an operational level.  Drive the continuous improvement efforts throughout the operation in support of Total Quality Leadership and the Eaton Business System; by evaluating the performance, driving process improvements, variability/defects reduction in business processes. Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process specifications to improve the current standards, quality and reliability of the finished goods. Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools/methods to the other functions of the organization to support them in their continuous improvement activities.

  • Actively participate as a member of the leadership team in the deployment of the Eaton Business System (EBS) tools, including the Operational Assessment process.

  • Provide support to the Supply Chain Management organization relative to Supplier Quality activities of the operation as well as provide Quality interface, expertise and support to the organization’s suppliers and partners.  This includes the feedback of supplier performance to suppliers and the Division.

  • Manage the Quality strategy of the organization to facilitate continuous production and improvement of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

  • Lead the internal Quality System Audit program for the organization and manage the corrective action system in conjunction with the management review process.

  • Communicate and coordinate Customer satisfaction on behalf of the Plant in conjunction with the EMEA Quality and Warranty Manager and the Plant LT

  • Provide Quality interface and expertise between the operation and its customers. This includes the complaint management, the corrective / preventive actions (CAPA) management, managing customer issues – with feedback to the division – and the coordination of customer visits and audits. 

  • Build relationships with division and corporate functions in order to support identification, review, prioritization and execution of key improvements opportunities/projects to drive results. 

  • Recommend new or leading-edge technologies, methods, tools and procedures on the fields of quality assurance and continuous improvement to proactively address changes in the business environment.

  • Support the management of performance and provide career development opportunities to all the employees within the quality and warranty function of the organization.  This includes the development and implementation of training programs to build “bench strength” in the organization. Qualifications

Are you?

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive, hydraulics or chemical industries

  • Strong knowledge on quality systems & standards; ISO/TS, ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 17025; Measurement systems; Process Design & Control 

  • Strong leadership & communication skills with hands on approach 

  • Self-Driven, passionate, accountable, influencer, strong cooperative team player, relationship builder

  • People management experience with strong team-building & interpersonal skills 

  • Strong customer relationship management

  • Ability to demonstrate managerial courage in conflict management

  • High level of proficiency in English; German/Italian is an asset
