This exciting role is part of an Electrical Sector with a primary responsibility of drive the development and implementation of lighting fixtures. The nature of these projects involves mechanical, electrical, testing, and regulatory compliance.   


The program manager will own the New Product Development(NPD) and VAVE projects, documentation and tracking of all programs including stage gate process management, regular cadence of meetings/reviews, reporting, program metrics, countermeasures, and capital planning/execution. The candidate is expected to be comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization, in managing conflict, removing obstacles, driving progress, and accountability.


Your essential responsibilities:

  • Work with a cross functional team to manage programs from concept to commercial execution.
  • Financial acumen to complete required capital appropriation request for the assigned programs.
  • Integrate business, marketing and technology elements to create a cohesive project vision and team charter.
  • Co ordinate with multiple engineering teams in a waterfall and Agile environment to maintain a project plan aligned with Eaton stage gate product development process
  • Manages project and product definition activities related to marketing and/or technical requirements.
  • Work with the project team to define, assess and mitigate risks that have a major impact on project cost, schedule, investment and technology.
  • Execute programs  within scope, time and budget.
  • Document project activities, issues, concerns and status to keep management informed and enable timely resolution of project problems.
  • Participate in the development and use of project management procedures and guidelines at Eaton.
  • Ability to meet short and long-term deadlines.
Eaton has announced its intent to spinoff its Lighting Business into publicly traded company (“SpinCo”).  This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and this position is expected to remain with SpinCo.   The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  The Lighting Business is in the process of developing its total rewards philosophy, strategy and structure, including the design of its benefits and annual and long-term incentive plans that will take effect when SpinCo becomes a publicly traded company. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when SpinCo becomes an independent, publicly traded company, you will be eligible to participate in SpinCo’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that SpinCo’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.

If you are:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Engineering (B.E) degree in engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management and leadership of project teams using a formal stage-gate product development process to manage electrical and mechanical product development and market introductions with total experience of 6 to 8 Years

  • Proficient with project/program management tools such as MS Project and other PM tool box applications.

  • Knowledge of best practices in product development methodologies, processes, and technologies.

  • Strong leader with excellent communication, organizational and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) highly recommended.

  • Experience working with geographically dispersed engineering and business teams.

  • Experience working with third party partners.
