Job Description

Eaton’s Hydraulics division is currently seeking a Value Stream Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Querétaro facility.

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for manage and direct the Value Stream team to ensure the achievement of the commodity goals focusing on employee safety, product quality, on-time delivery, productivity, lean manufacturing, environmental impact reduction and cost-out activities.

Role will also be responsible for a direct and indirect production operations team to meet customer objectives outside of assigned of value stream.

Some activities related with the position will be:
  • Drive accountability for assigned commodity with end to end responsibility.

  • Lead product introductions to site with a focus on people, program, material, tooling and gaging.  Coordinating with Transition Manager & assigned project team on overall production, maintenance, material handling, quality, scheduling and other production-related activities.

  • Establish and monitor overall assigned commodity performance for production and quality standards.

  • Must participate in designing and implementing continuous improvement processes for commodity.

  • Accountable for plant throughput, on-time performance, quality, and productivity for assigned commodity.

  • Develop subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.

  • Assure proper training and development of manufacturing associates at all levels.

  • Make sure all departmental and individual goals are directly aligned with overall plant goals.

  • Establish good working atmosphere with strong ethics and maintain a good working relationship with the union.

  • Foster teamwork between departments and within the department.

  • Address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards in respective work area(s), and evaluates the ensuing corrections(s).

  • Complete assigned action items on EHS action plan; participate in EHS risk/ergo analysis for departments; Report to maintenance any energy spills; Achieve near misses/gemba goal and close them on time.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Industrial Engineering Degree or similar

  • 7 years of experience on Manufacturing / Operations activities

  • Excellent communication and human relations skills and the ability to lead and motivate subordinates.

  • Administrative skills to include planning, coordinating, team building, communication, organization and time management.

  • Requires knowledge in Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Plant and Facility Engineering, production planning and inventory control, employee relations, manufacturing processes and quality methods.  It also requires technical knowledge of the product and its applications.

  • Demonstrates the ability to apply the hierarchies of EHS risk controls in cooperation with internal stakeholders within the site.

  • One must also be a good communicator and motivator.  Must set a good, positive example

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
