Eaton’s Lighting Division has an opening for a EC Business Development Manager - Lighting Systems & Solutions. 

 

Position Overview:

As the EC Business Development Manager, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a market activation plan to generate profitable sales for Eaton wireless control platforms and lighting retrofit kits.  In addition, this candidate will develop electrical contractor relationships as well as a certification process around estimation, installation and commissioning.

 

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Leverages experience as an electrical contractor to generate adoption of wireless control systems

  • Develop specific customer profile to determine the correct customers to target within assigned channel

  • Identify and contribute to targeted contractor associations (NECA/ FEC/ etc.)

  • Execute specific functions to ensure success of market activation plans

  • Works closely with electrical contractors to develop a viable business relationship and ensure that Eaton provides value and services which will meet the customer's changing needs.

  • Develops and recommends an annual and multi-year sales plan and forecast for wireless solutions and lighting fixtures/ retrofit kits in coordination with the lighting division’s broader strategic initiatives.

  • Understands market conditions and competitive wireless systems and provides feedback to marketing regarding NPI/ commercialization/ training tools to ensure we are meeting customer needs

  • Aligns and leverages with Eaton’s existing rep channel for seamless customer and rep experience


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce or Engineering

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in selling to electrical contractors

  • A minimum of 5 years outside sales experience

  • Must be eligible for work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Lighting Controls industry

  • A minimum of 5 years selling Lighting Controls to electrical contractors

  • Experience with negotiating and closing orders directly with contractors
