Eaton’s Energy Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Product Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Plymouth, MN facility supporting the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) product line.

 

The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of the AMI related products from roadmap, initial development through product launch, support, improvements, and ultimately product retirement or replacement strategy. In this role, you will span all aspects of the business and necessities cross functional familiarity and communication with sales, engineering, technical services, manufacturing, software development, finance, and others spanning multiple sites.

  • You will develop and manage product life cycles and product line road map, serving primary product expert and liaison between marketing and engineering/manufacturing.

  • You will develop, communicate, and manage the prioritization of AMI marketing requirements documents describing AMI product functionality requests from customers and prospects considering market trends.

  • You will support the development of all product collaterals, pricing structures, samples, and working with Product Line Managers, Marketing Managers, and Marcomm for PR, advertising, tradeshow and customer testimonial development

  • You will lead the development and maintenance of various technical marketing collateral including technical documentation, application notes, FAQs, product notes, user guides, field training presentation content and demos

  • You will establish and maintain hands-on, in-depth knowledge of competitors including business model, solutions, and products.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in utility/Smart Grid industry with product management/technical sales, and marketing emphasis

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • Electric metering and AMI experience

  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the following Eaton location:  Plymouth, MN

 
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Sales/systems sales support experience

  • Experience in the electric utility industry

  • Experience with customer facing including, but not limited to, trade shows, training demos, and technical support

     
Position Success Criteria:
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiar with electric utility software applications

  • Able to work with limited supervision and direction

  • Capability of communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong problem-solving skills; strong analytical abilities
