Quality Engineering Supervisor
Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Irvine, CA facility.
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the Quality Engineering Supervisor gives direction to the quality engineering function. This position provides leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of the quality engineers. In addition, the Quality Engineering Supervisor will facilitate problem solving, ensure coordination and communication of corrective and preventive actions, and assist the quality manager in system development and maintenance. The Quality Engineering Supervisor will also participate in the development and deployment of process improvement and cost reduction activities.

Train and develop employees on subjects relating to customer requirements, inspection techniques, inspection equipment and processes as appropriate
Design, coordinate, and implement highly complex process sampling systems, procedures, statistical techniques, and quality systems
Develop process improvement and cost control programs throughout the plant
Perform review of customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure processes meet/exceed requirements
Provide technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed
Develop, implement and monitor performance against short and long-range plans to achieve quality engineering objectives
Implement short and long-range plans relative to quality assurance
Identify needs and develop the quality engineering function
Develop or modify quality procedures, metrics and processes to achieve quality and on time delivery goals
Provide direction to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality
Select and develop competent quality engineers and in plant auditors to ensure quality goals are achieved
Provide reports as required and drive corrective action and preventive action for timely and effective completion
Assist as required in all technical qualify functions as necessary
Assure effective communication and reporting to customers
Assure compliance with control phase of quality systems and initiatives such as internal auditing, statistical process control and testing
Provide support and guidance to Quality Engineering in new product development
Review and interpret Specifications / Requirements for ensuring product compliance
Develop/deploy instructions/procedures/processes for ensuring ongoing compliance to specifications / requirements
Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
Participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas
Executes the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and various customer requirements
Function as Lead Auditor to perform quality system audits at suppliers and internally to assess compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001 standards
Hosts & supports Internal, Customer, Supplier and Third Party Audits as required
Works collaboratively with applicable internal functional teams to improve key metrics Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives
Evaluates organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommends action plans to Quality Manager to close gaps at an operational level
Contributes in the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conducts training in quality-related topics
Participate in product development gate review meetings with launch activities including identification of customer expectations ensuring compliance that Quality requirements are understood, flowed down and met
Apply engineering and manufacturing technical knowledge to help improve supplier activities that can help Eaton’s quality, delivery and cost performance objectives
Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing and inspection processes
Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Quality function.
Minimum two (2) years of work experience supervising or managing people.
No relocation benefit is being offered with this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Irvine, CA facility will be considered.

This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited institution
Aerospace experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of Divisional policies, objectives and procedures regarding detection and analysis of product nonconformance to specification.
Basic understanding of statistical quality control, and Eaton Engineering systems, components and product applications.
Thorough knowledge of cost control techniques as they apply to the total quality concept, budgeting and fixed asset planning for return on investment.
Administrative skills required to guide product quality, employee involvement and productivity programs.
Highly developed human relations, communications and internal consulting skills necessary to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the various plant functions and Division staff, customer and supplier personnel, and to promote and motivate employee involvement in, and acceptance of, new methodologies, etc.
