Material Planner


We are seeking a Material Planner to join the Havant team, reporting into Supply Chain Manager and indirectly to the Process Focus Team Manager.


Your role will include:

  • Planning, releasing, scheduling, expediting and monitoring materials required for production

  • Managing daily inventory and supplier schedules

  • Analysing, coordinating and communicating detailed production planning material requirements.

  • You will be required to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.


Additional duties and include:

  • Managing current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities to ensure completion of customer requirements.

  • Ensuring planning data parameters of items (order policies, safety stock level, make/buy, lead-times for manufactured parts)

  • Ensuring required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to allocate, purchase, internally manufacture or reschedule material as required.

  • Balancing current and future demand requirements

  • Expediting material, where required to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements.

  • Maintaining the accuracy and validity of the data in the ERP system. Prepare reports as required to facilitate and recommend actions that ensures optimal supply chain execution.

  • Analysing data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels and reduce total costs.

  • Managing material cost and schedule.

  • Ensuring Work Orders, Repetitive Schedules and KanBan’s are controlled and released at a set production level.


Education and additional requirements:

  • Degree educated

  • APICS CPIM Certification is preferable not essential 

  • Manufacturing industry experience

  • Experience and knowledge of ERP MRP systems (preferably MFG Pro)

  • Material scheduling experience, ideally with Six Sigma skills and knowledge

  • Production and inventory management experience

  • MS Office proficiency
