Job Description

Eaton’s B Line Division is currently seeking a District Sales Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Chicago, IL facility.

 

The District Sales Manager is responsible for responsible for maximizing sales profits either directly or by working with our agents in an assigned territory calling on electrical and mechanical channels to market. In this role, you will conduct sales calls to maintain good relationships with customers as well as to ensure that sale’s tools, such as catalogs, price sheets and promotional material are being utilized.

  • You will assist distributors and agents at appropriate intervals as required and provides expertise or influence in key situations.

  • You will understand and demonstrate the features and benefits of the full line of industrial support products including training others on product usage and applications.

  • You will inform the Division of business and product trends and competitive conditions within the region

  • You will coordinate sales activities with sales rep staff for production, distribution, research and finance departments to achieve district sales objectives.  Solicits and helps to follow up requests for quotations on major jobs

  • You will evaluate and recommend operational and personnel improvements and responsible for maintaining pricing in accordance with company objectives

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University, plus two or more years in the electrical or mechanical industry

  • Must be willing to travel and adjust hours accordingly to meet sales leads or customer complaints.

  • Must adhere to and support pertinent corporate policy and procedures (i.e., pricing, terms, credit, quotations, and inventory.) 

  • Must possess and maintain a valid & unrestricted driver’s license

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the following Eaton location: Chicago, IL

 
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Positive overall presentation for conducting sales calls and maintaining good relationships with customers

  • Extensive, detailed understanding of B-Line product application
  • Knowledge of B-Line’s working relationship with distributors, specifically, engineers, end-users, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)

  • Good communication skills for training and product presentation
  • Analytical skills for reporting and targeting conditions in the market and resolving customer problems

  • Good record keeping skills
  • Good manager of time, travel, and expenditures
