Job Description

Eaton’s Hydraulic division is currently seeking a Tooling Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Queretaro facility

The Tooling Technician is responsible for ensuring the cutting tools are maintain, correctly selected and  mounted on their corresponding workholding, delivered to the production point of use strictly following all documents available such as tool layout, tooling matrix and tool sheets, ensuring the machining process will not experience stoppages due to tooling issues.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  1. Read and understand blueprints for dimensions, tolerances and other product specification needed for inspection and machining operations for all machines.

  2. Order work holding and supplies as necessary for machining equipment.

  3. Change of Tooling using SMED.

  4. Prepare tools and fixture for the different part numbers and machines.

  5. Operate and setup equipment to maintain specifications and independently adjust for variations.

  6. Perform necessary functions to prepare work stations to meet requirements.

  7. Participate in monitoring and measuring programs for Safety, Environment and Health according to his area of management such as the Fall protection, Energy control (Lock out - Tag out), Electrical safety, confined spaces etc.

  8. Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost out and/or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve or business goals and/objectives.

    Participate in MESH  Category 8 Process Safety (Fall protection, Electrical Safety, Confined Spaces, Hot Work) etc.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Technical in Electromechanical or Mechatronic.
  • 3 years of experience as Tooling Technician in the same industry field.
  • 2 years of experience in tool room or machine shop technical school.
  • Ability to interact with tooling and tool suppliers in order to ensure proper component selection.
  • Intermediate English Level
