Jr Manufacturing Engineer
Eaton’s Trucks division is currently seeking a Jr Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our San Luis Potosí facility.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products and continuous improvement.
Support production activities.
Provide leadership to whole High-Performance Work Team and promote a positive employee relations climate through leadership and enhances high performance culture. Monitoring by metrics based on the company objectives.

A. Analyze problems and supervise corrections related to machine capability and production rates (OEE). Maintain and improve current manufacturing processes to produce parts to specification
B. Actively participate or champion in the continuous improvement process of the plant and implement cost-savings in manufacturing to reduce waste including corrective actions to make an immediate impact to business results. Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA´s.
C. Champion key initiatives for the plant and utilize EBS to achieve plant goals. Implement ELS tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Setup Reduction, 5s, etc.
D. Train and inform cell technicians on current process techniques and new manufacturing concepts. Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate and maintain process sheets for each step of the manufacturing process.
E. Support PROLaunch - Participating in aspects related to manufacturing of new released components or assemblies. Review and evaluate new products, processes equipment and facility proposal. Lead and execute installation, runoff, and startup of transferred and new equipment. Complete runoffs and PPAP´s on time according to established schedules.
F. Define max/min supply of all related items to equipment, such as spare parts and other supplies.
G. Comply with requirements of the Quality System.
H. Champion multi-disciplinary teams in activities related to manufacturing issues.
I. Lead, facilitate and coordinate production activities and resources according to established proactive and/or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery or quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.
J. Establishes and identify best layout distribution
K. Directs the Increased use of systems approaches that integrate engineering, automation, ergonomic & environmental issues and information technology in the workplace
L. Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.
M. Promotes the company’s mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.
N. Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

3-year experience in personnel management.
Requires at least 3 years’ experience in progressive management roles.
Bachelor’s Degree. (Mechanic, Industrial, Electric or similar)
Fluent in English/Spanish
A. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic or manufacturing engineering required.
B. 5 years experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the automotive industry.
C. English language at a conversational level required.
D. Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and manufacturing processes.
E. Demonstrated knowledge and training in assembly controls, automation, mistake proofing techniques and CNC programming.
F. Background or experience in quality basics such as statistical process control, capability studies and gage R&R´s.
G. Experience conducting multidisciplinary teams.
H. Skills at interpreting mechanical drawings and basic use of CAD systems.
I. Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical operations).
J. Green Belt (Six Sigma) would be a plus.
K. JDE knowledge focuses in Manufacturing Processes.

A. This position requires some travel.
B. It requires the use management skills, act as a liaison for associates at all levels.
C. Participate and assist in meeting all plant Environmental Health and Safety objectives.
D. Establish a timely response for corrective actions to help drive continuous improvement through the Environmental Management Program.
E. Develop and implement positive employee relations (Eaton Philosophy) to encourage employee involvement and to create an environment in which employees see no need for third party intervention.
