Job Description

Eaton’s Lighting Division is currently seeking a Transportation Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Peachtree City, GA location.

 

The Transportation Manager will be responsible to manage the Global transportation network across all modes of transportation from Plants to DC’s and DC’s outbound to customer ensuring required service levels are met.

  • You will conduct ongoing assessment of network and operational processes to identify opportunities and solutions for cost reductions and service level improvements. 

  • You will support carrier compliance to corporate routing guidance and manage carrier performance, metrics and KPIs.  

  • You will promote ongoing collaboration with other supply chain teams to drive compliance, cost containment and manage service levels from suppliers.  

  • You will be responsible for managing and balancing network carrier capacity to meet service level requirements and on time delivery.  

  • You will also be responsible for managing and developing a team transportation specialist that support US, Mexico and International operations.

  • You will identify and implement strategic and tactical transportation optimization solutions 

  • You will manage carrier relationships and service for all modes transportation to ensure highest efficiency is achieved

  • You will drive internal and external compliance to routing guides and requirements 

  • You will work with supply chain team to optimize cost and performance on inbound transportation. 

  • You will employ a collaborative leadership style, set measurable goals and develop employees.

  • You will participate in RFPs as needed, Carrier Selection and Pricing Analysis

  • You will initiate logistics process improvements through driving mode shifts, capacity balancing, pooling.

  • You will compile transportation data and conduct analyses to support improved freight optimization, cost savings initiatives and overall freight related financials.

  • You will manage dynamic cross-border (US/MX/CA) carrier network and capacity.

  • You will manage flow of goods and services from International suppliers end to end.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university is required. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics/transportation/supply chain is required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in global freight, ocean and air is required

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Peachtree City, GA will be considered.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • MBA Preferred
  • Experience with Shipments from/to finished good vendors, component vendors or 3rd party distribution centers, both international and domestic.

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Microsoft Access, VISIO, Excel, Powerpoint

  • TMS and SAP experience preferred
