We are looking for PD Project & Design Engineer in Eaton’s Corporate Division, based in Mascot, Sydney.

The role offers a broad variety of responsibilities including supporting the PD Engineering team to deliver customer projects on time and on budget, as well as supporting the development and maintenance of the PD product portfolio.

Your essential responsibilities:

  • Formulate engineered solutions to meet Eaton’s contractual requirements and satisfy the customer as per the contractual agreement

  • Prepare drawings, SLDs, schematics and reports both within Eaton and to customers as required

  • Ensure designs/projects comply with relevant electrical and safety requirements

  • Gain customer approval/acceptance of all drawings submitted

  • Create Item, BOM & routing, purchasing & invoicing through Oracle and liaison with procurement and assembly partners

  • Perform Process Engineering Change Orders through Oracle

  • Issue parts to assembly partners and coordination of project completion

  • Establish testing plans (ITP/ITS) and oversee product testing/FATs

  • Prepare project status reports for management & customer’s

  • Provide guidance as necessary to procurement and assembly partners for the completion of projects

  • Provide product application support to Marketing, Sales and customers

  • Provide technical support to Operations & QA e.g. test result reviews, product failure investigations, work instructions etc.

  • Comply with the company’s policies and procedures

  • Be aware of the company's and your own obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Eaton’s Quality Management System and Eaton Ethical standards

  • Carry out the roles and responsibilities as detailed in the quality, safety and environment policies and procedures

  • Commit to the quality, safety and environment and proactively reporting any risks and issues

  • Understand the company mission, vision, policies, objectives and other requirements of the quality, safety and environment management system


If you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3 years’ experience in electrical switchgear & installations for MV & LV

  • Competent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in a design/manufacturing environment – preferred

  • Experience in electrical switchgear / switchboards / protection schemes – preferred

  • Knowledge of Standards AS/NZS3000, AS/NZS61439 suite & IEC62271 suite - preferred

  • Computer literate – Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word - required; AutoCAD experience - preferred (3D highly regarded)

  • Oracle ERP literate - preferred

  • SAP ERP literate - preferred
