Supply Chain Manager

Job Description

Eaton has an opening for a Supply Chain Manager as part of its Residential Wiring & Devices Division (RWDD). Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this person provides leadership over the Lincoln plant supply chain programs.  Responsibilities include leading customer support and selecting product management programs to ensure overall Electrical business objectives are met.

 

Essential functions include:

 

  • Manages customer relationships for internal and external customers. Directs the achievement of customer requirements from the Lincoln plant.  Responsible for driving and meeting customer service indicators such as stock fill rate, on time performance, finished goods inventory levels and excess & obsolete inventory, forecast accuracy, supplier on time delivery, supplier p.p.m., freight cost, d.p.e., cost out, supplier lead time, MRP exceptions performance, AP holds, load attainment, data accuracy, customer lead team.

  • Owns the SIOP process and associated key metrics, including load attainment, forecast accuracy and rough cut capacity. Manages relationship with the central planning group.

  • Provides leadership and manages the functional areas of purchasing, inventory control, logistics, customer service and planning. Ensures continuous improvement in these functions.    Approves and maintains annual budgets for areas of responsibility.

  • Drives improvement in planning to enable attainment of organizational goals such as stock fill rate, on time delivery, schedule compliance and productivity.

  • Responsible for managing and/or supporting supplier negotiations for direct and indirect material.

  • Leads and participates in Eaton supply chain teams.  Assists product line managers with product line forecasting.

  • Establishes, manages and executes inventory strategies and production planning. Manages raw material, work in process and finished goods inventories nationwide manufactured by Lincoln plant and direct source. Assists in managing warehousing to achieve customer service level objectives.  Assists with inventory levels by catalog number.

  • Researches competition to provide product gap analysis and to develop corrective actions (product enhancements and improvements) where necessary. Assists in new product development programs.

  • Directs cost reduction activities within the purchasing, planning, shipping and receiving departments and assists other departments in cost reduction activities.

  • Appraises employee performance and administers salaries.  Builds organizational capability through development plans, mentoring and driving accountability

  • Participates in the development of plant strategic plans and aligns departmental goals. Responsible for establishing and executing profit plan targets for gross inventory, d.o.h., stock fill rate, on time performance, schedule compliance, freight cost, cost out, inventory accuracy, scrap and other key metrics as required by site and division. Develops annual objectives for the departments and reviews these objectives periodically with department personnel.

  • Prepares special reports and analyses, as required, to guide, assist and inform management personnel.  Participates in strategic planning and forecasting for plant performance.

  • Adheres to Supply Chain Policies and Corporate procedures and programs (such as MESH, ELSS, EBE and EQS). Establishes and maintains procedures for the department and coordinates these procedures and established corporate policies with other departments.

  • Ensures that shipping and receiving area personnel are properly trained in accordance with OSHA standards and plant policies. Ensures that personnel follow required procedures and safe practices.


Qualifications

Minimum (Basic) Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and controlling production schedules and inventory levels.

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a leadership role

  • Master’s in Business Administration from an accredited institution

  • Experience in forecasting, product line structures, and business cycles

  • Experience coordinating, implementing, and continually improving computerized scheduling system

  • Experience initiating, and monitoring cycle counting procedure to inspect and insure inventory on-hand accuracy
