Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Lead Engineer – Hydraulic Actuation Systems to join our team. This position is based at our Los Angeles, CA.
This position is responsible for supporting new development and existing design of fluid power and motion control systems and components. In this role, you will provide technical design, testing, and guidance for new product development and product improvements.
The incumbent will create and/or guide the creation of technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Present product design and substantiating data and testing, design findings and recommendations to customers and management.

Work with one or more Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to design, test, and implement product designs and design improvements in all phases of a product design lifecycle.
Guide and participate in efforts to solve problems with product design, inspection, manufacturing, and test encountered by vendors, company operations personnel, and customers.
Support targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules. Participate in resolving program change of scope issues with Engineering Lead and Program Management data and testing, design findings and recommendations to customers and management.
Ensure standardization of products and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects. Support continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures and cording appropriate updates as required.
You will perform component design study and improvement for cost reduction and first pass yield.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with mechanical design
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical products
- Prior aerospace industry experience
- Experience with ProE
- Experience with Geometrical Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) principles and perform tolerance stack-up testing
- Experience with DFM, DFSS, DFMEA, and/or DOE
- Prior experience working as a project lead in a technical environment
- Prior knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for engineering design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and web based information and documentation systems
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, engineers, customers or the general public
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Ability to adapt and react quickly to internal and external customer demands
