Eaton’s Aerospace Fluid Motion and Control Systems Division is looking Material Handler - 1st Shift to join our team.  This position is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Reports to the Materials Manager, the material handler will be responsible for the packaging and shipping material to outside vendors and customers. Additionally, the Material Handler holds the responsibility for managing inventory via executing a cycle count program, issuing & transferring of material, and performing other MRP transactions. In addition, you will service both internal and external customers via half-door, emails and phone calls with a variety of requests from all departments.

  • You will verify count, packaging method, serial numbers, documentation, shipping methods and destination.
  • You will receive in purchased parts and work orders, pull kits for aftermarket and production.
  • You will perform MRP transactions to ensure data integrity of inventory. 
  • You will accurately ship finished goods to customers and in-process material to outside vendors.
  • You will coordinate and work with outside Shipping/Packaging companies. 
  • You will determine materials needed to support the Shipping Department. 
  • You will maintain the required inventory for the department.
  • You will coordinate time and dates with delivery trucks.
  • You will maintain machinery and equipment for department including scheduling maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • You will generate and verify invoicing for shipped goods through MFGPro and the Document Management systems.
  • You will work closely with Final inspection and Administrators to assure on time delivery to the customer.
  • You will notify the Customer of shipments.
  • You will be certified to ship Hazardous material and able to maintain the specialized labeling process.
  • Train other personnel as required.
  • Participate in process continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Grand Rapids MI to be considered.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience logistics or related field.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years logistics or related field is preferred.  Knowledge of standard shipping/receiving practices in regards to carriers and bills of lading.
  • Basic computer experience.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, and Excel.
  • ERP System Experience will be preferred.
  • Ability to train others in shipping functions and processes.
