Job Description

Individual will use deep domain knowledge related to the Quality function to develop, deploy, maintain, and improve the rules, tools and processes required to effectively manage Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, APQP, and Warranty across the Hydraulics Group globally.  He/she will drive continuous improvement of assigned processes and the results by utilizing the Eaton Quality Management Systems (EQMS) and Hydraulic Group Quality Procedures.  It is critical that deployment and utilization of new and improved tools and processes are executed with complete alignment across regional and business quality leadership. This position also has the responsibility for leading deployment and implementation of special Quality System projects that will be defined and deployed on an annual basis, example: Quality Leading Indicators (QLI). The scope of the role encompasses the Hydraulics Group and therefore includes the Hydraulics Business, Filtration, and Golf Grip facilities and locations worldwide.

  • Works cross-functionally with global Quality, SCM, Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) is fully deployed and performance against key metrics meets defined targets and overall business needs. This includes the tracking, monitoring, and reporting of results with actions that demonstrate best practices and continuous improvement.

  • Assimilates corporate & divisional business objectives by providing input to global Hydraulics Group Quality strategies. Develop, deploy, and maintain group level rules, tools and processes that are aligned with and compliant to the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS).

  • Ensure that Hydraulics group locations comply with group level rules tools and processes (examples: Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, APQP, and Warranty). Also ensuring compliance to customer and industry-specific Quality requirements associated with these processes. Develops and leads execution of Hydraulics Group Capability Assessments and Production Rate Readiness reviews (i.e., PROLaunch)

  • Continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Management System through use of the Quality policy, Quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, management review, and corrective / preventive actions.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and use of the Balanced Scorecard (EPM) tool to all levels of the organization (Business, Region, and Plant). 

  • Analyze key Quality-related operational metrics and perform periodical reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at an operational level.

  • Support Hydraulics Group level initiatives such as Eaton Business System (EBS), Eaton Business System Assessment (EBSA), Operational Assessment (OpA), Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) and Business Process Improvements (BPI).

  • Facilitate the sharing of best / transferable practices across the Hydraulics organization for the Quality function through use of the Quality – Eaton Resource Group (ERG).

  • Actively advocate, teach and mentor for the quality function to build organizational capability.  Ensure deployment of Eaton’s quality functional excellence tool set.

  • Represent the Hydraulics Group on Corporate Quality functional team in the maintenance and improvement of the EQMS policies.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Quality
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Quality system auditing to international standards
  • In-depth experience with the practical application of Quality tools, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies as they pertain to both new products (NPI) and current products (EPE)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO-9001, TS-16949,and/orAS-9100 etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality assurance and Continuous Improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with the deployment of Eaton’s EQS process
  • Master’s Degree from accredited university
  • EBS Mentor, EQS Assessor, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor – or similar
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO-9001 Auditor and Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
