Senior Software Engineer
The Senior Software Engineer will identify and evaluate emerging markets and technologies globally and will contribute in the research, design, and development of innovative new electrical products and software solutions.

Design, simulate, develop and test hardware and software for electrical and IoT solutions
Develop proof of concepts and scalable solutions for real-world products; work with engineering teams and other product line personnel to facilitate timely new product launches
Use research techniques to analyze and validate design or theory concepts and to solve specific design problems
Author high-quality, high-performance, unit-tested code; work with test team to ensure adequate and appropriate automated test coverage; investigate and fix bugs
Cross reference competitive products and stay abreast of competitive offerings and new market trends
Ensure compliance with federal and/or state laws, regulations, policies, standards and guidelines, etc.
Provide feedback or assist in the development of product marketing literature, technical documents, or training tools for sales and support personnel, specifying engineers, installers, customers, and end users; participate in formal/informal training sessions
Make recommendations regarding new or enhanced product or service offerings based on evaluations of new technologies and innovations aligning with Eaton’s strategic plans
Manage electrical and software development projects, insuring projects are completed on time, within budget and with high quality
Act as a technical advisor to product line managers and/or manufacturing engineers throughout the ProLaunch process
Utilize internal project execution processes including Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, and Technical Reviews
Provide timely and accurate data to all project stakeholders; communicate across Eaton business units globally
Provide technical support to internal and external customers within area of responsibility including limited field work
Complete all work according to standard engineering principles and practices

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or related field
3+ years of industry experience, including experience in software and connected products or IoT space
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50 mile radius of the work location will be considered
- Knowledge of IoT systems and architecture
Knowledge of cloud development platforms such as Azure
Thorough understanding of relational and non-relational database systems
Excellent understanding of project/program management principles, including hands on experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience with development and maintenance of engineering documentation
Proficient in gathering product and business requirements and translating those requirements into actionable development tasks and deliverables
Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers on a global basis, including working across multiple engineering locations
Strong work ethic, high level of flexibility, and a desire to activity contribute to the organization’s success
Excellent presentation, communication, and public speaking skills, including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts and to communicate across organizational lines
Results oriented, strong responsibility sense, and professional attitude

Highly organized and demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, keep projects on schedule, and ability to address quickly changing business requirements
