Eaton’s Hydraulics Division is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This position is based at our Middlesex NC facility.  Relocation assistance will be provided.

 

Position Overview:

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer designs, develops and implements products and manufacturing processes to facilitate cost reduction and continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cycle time.

In this function you will:
  • Investigate, analyze, and troubleshoot product design, equipment operations, production methods and processes.

  • Provide engineering expertise for operation and maintenance of equipment, and manufacturing processes to ensure safe and capable operations.

  • Identify and implement new manufacturing methods and process modification recommendations for reduction of waste, cost, enhanced safety, or improved delivery.

  • Plan, lead and execute capital projects including developing cost justification, collaborating with cross functional teams and managing external contractor

  • Coordinate implementation of new products into manufacturing. Creates reviews and approves product and process test reports necessary to gain customer approval of new or modified product designs.

  • Facilitate product redesign related to raw material or production/customer concerns.

  • Establish, maintain, and audit Engineering Specifications, Bills of Material, Process Routers, Production Standards, and Process FMEA’s for new and existing products.

  • Assist in evaluation of potential and existing suppliers and provides support for resolution of supplier quality concerns.

  • Analyze data relative to cost, product, machine capability, waste elimination, hazard identification, and resolution of manufacturing problems and quality concerns.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing operations experience required

  • Minimum of 1 year experience using continuous improvement tools (Lean, Kaizen etc.)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree from an accredit institution, preferably in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration

  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or aerospace industry

  • Experience in AS9100 C/D, AS7112 and ISO14001
  • Experience in/working knowledge of PTFE blending/paste extrusion or silicone cover extrusion or braiding

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organizational skills

  • Financial and business acumen
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills

  • Ability to work simultaneously through prioritization and time management skills

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.)

  • Proven record of motivating, engaging and developing direct and indirect reports

  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and MS Outlook
