This exciting role is part of eMobility team & responsibility would be to work with cross functional global/local teams developing verification and validation strategies and testing Power Electronics Systems for eMobility & drive project complying with Eaton Pro-Launch process. The Lead engineer shall coordinates multi-disciplined engineering projects for validation and verification and serves as an expert resource for other engineers, identify opportunities in projects & mentor engineers for disclosures/patent applications, technical paper publication & presentations in external bodies.

 

 

 

Your essential responsibilities:

 

  • Verification and validation of analog, digital, and power circuits electronics including micro-processors/controllers, DSP’s, gate drivers, sensor interfaces, and SMPS for power conversion and protection, Utilizing automated testing, verification & validation tools.

  • Verify and validate the designs to meet requirements factoring in performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability for hybrid and electric vehicles.Work in Close collaboration with global eMobility product development teams for taking the designs to certification / as per IS26262 and other relevant automotive safety standards.

  • Ability to Analyze and predict design performance using Simulation tools, Analytical Skills etc. Ensure Reliability growth plan, Root cause analysis, Design Robustness through application of DFSS Methodology identifying and meeting CTQ’s, Ability to generate subsystem and system level P Diagrams, FMEA. Should be able to work on digital Communication protocols like CAN, RS232, SPI, I2C etc.

  • Drives & track OTD, CTQ maturity, FPY & QOS on key growth programs

  • Should handle hardware system design including end to end product development involving complex analog & digital circuit design with 16/32 /64 bit microcontrollers based designs, development, launch support. Collaborate with mechanical, layout, and firmware engineers to successfully develop and validate the designs. Interface with Business Unit (BU) engineers to drive strong business cases for new commercial applications

 

 

Qualifications


If you are:


  • Minimum 8  years of related engineering experience in power electronics designs and product development.

  • Extensive experience in hardware system design including end to end product development involving complex analog & digital circuit design along with Power Electronics  development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing, launch support. Including Subsystem Requirements Generation from top level system specifications.

  • Significant hands-on experience with analog, digital, and power circuits development and testing

  • Modeling, simulation and analysis experience with tools like Matlab/Simulink, SPICE, PSIM tools

  • Hands-on experience with power converter development and testing and with control strategies of electric drives for traction

  • Should have hands on experience and strong knowledge of EMI / EMC standards and environmental compliances – IEC / SAE/ ISO / RoHS / REACH etc

  • Exposure / Hands on experience on Digital Communication protocols like CAN, RS232, SPI, I2C etc.

  • Should have strong knowledge of DFSS tools & preferably Green Belt Certified

  • Drive & track OTD, CTQ maturity, FPY & QOS on key growth programs

  • Should have ability to mentor people on complex technical issues.

  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills


•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in designing, developing and testing analog, digital, and power circuits
