Eaton’s Hydraulic division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Queretaro facility.
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for evaluating direct material suppliers to ensure that products comply with Eaton quality standards regarding the supplier quality performance and PPAP processes.
Manage all non-conforming product issues with suppliers: Identification, segregation and disposition of material promoting continuous improvements action plants.

Some activities related with the position will be:
  1. Ensure the policies and procedures fulfillment, to evaluate the supplier quality and their capacity assuring the component’s quality.
  2. Provide quality interface between the organization and their suppliers, and pro-actively ensures that the plant needs and expectations are understood and satisfied by the suppliers.  This include the complaints manage process, assuring the well deployment of the preventive and corrective corresponding actions in the supplier process, through the 8D methodology and the update of the supplier process’ documents.  Avoiding repetitive issues.
  3. Provides tools and methods to suppliers aimed to support them to improve their quality processes driving its continuous improvement activities through the well deployment of the PFMEA and Control Plan.
  4. Evaluates and approves all items under the PPAP process to assure the supplier is meetings these requirement.
  5. Gives support to suppliers, analyzing the DMRs and PPMs to direct the efforts to identify and implement projects to reduce PPM/DMR levels. 
  6. Coordinates activities with the supplier regarding DMRs.  Assuring the flow of good components to our production lines regarding product priorities.
  7. Maintains close communication with the Quality and Customer Representative Manager to ensure the right department operation. 
  8. Applies the Safety and Environment principles and methodology to prevent accidents.
  9. Responsible for actively participating in all Continuous Improvement activities utilizing Eaton Business System processes and tools.
  10. Responsible for define procedures/control plans for validation of the direct materials to ensure that products comply with quality standards.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • 3 years of experience in Process Quality and Customer Contact.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using proven tools, techniques, and methodologies to inspect products, measure process performance, perform product verification and validation testing
  • Knowledgeable on problem solving methodologies and Quality Core Tools
  • Knowledge of Statistical Minitab software.
  • Experience with the practical application of Quality tools, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Desirable Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Standards, implemented or audited, participation on process documented
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
