NDT Level Three Technician


Your key deliverables:


Are you?

  • Assume technical responsibility for all the NDT activities conducted in the company in support of production and customer paid inspections.

  • Conduct NDT for the purpose of accepting parts.

  • Oversee all aspects of the EATON NDT program including maintenance of written practices, internal certification program and surveillance of subcontracted NDT.

  • Complete all job-specific training necessary to meet productivity expectations. I.e. provide training, examination and certification of NDT Level I & II personnel

  • Complete all cross-training necessary to support Manager’s resource flexibility strategy for the Quality department.

  • Complete all required training related to Health, Safety, Ethics, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Follow all policies and procedures related to Health, Safety, Ethics, Quality and Human Resources.

  • Develop standard work instructions and training material.  Deliver training to employees.

  • Lead/manage projects and budgets for manufacturing and process teams.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Lead special process and customer audits and maintain NADCAP approvals.

  • Update Eaton documentation to meet NADCAP and customer requirements.

  • Select the appropriate method and technique for an NDT inspection

  • Prepare, verify and approve the technical adequacy of all NDT procedures, work instructions and written practices.


Do you have the below Experience?


Must be capable of establishing techniques and procedures; interpreting codes, standards, and specifications; and designating the particular nondestructive testing methods, techniques, and procedures to be used. Must also have knowledge of materials, fabrication, and product technology. Responsible for training and examining Level I and Level II's. Providing Leadership of the X-Ray & FPI facilities.   

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering discipline OR recognized equivalent.


  • At least one years’ experience since certification at Level III in the X-Ray & FPI methods.


  • Sound people management skills and an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team to customer


  • Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.


  • Ability to problem-solve and identify process improvement opportunities.


  • Knowledge of weld and braze joining process a plus. 


  • Experience with Nadcap audits. 


  • Familiarity with a wide variety of manufacturing processes including milling, turning, grinding and welding preferred.


  • Familiarity with a wide variety of metallurgies including stainless steels, carbon steels, aluminum and titanium


  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, gauge blocks and other common inspection devices.


  • Excellent time management skills; able to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.


  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
