Job Description

Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Drop Ship Planner to join our team. This position is located in our Raleigh, NC distribution facility. 

The Drop Ship Planner is responsible for processing all orders that will be shipping from either manufacturers or distributors to end users.  Responsible for working closely with our vendor partners and our internal customers in ensuring that all purchase orders are processed in a timely manner, providing product requirement guidance to Sales, and to follow through to ensure fulfillment of each purchase.  #LI-JS1

- You will plan, schedule, and purchase an adequate supply of materials required for the completion of customer requirements.
- You will maximize the value of each purchase consistent with company order policies and procedures to achieve a balance between function, productivity, quality, delivery, and cost.
- You will review and interpret various reports to determine requirements based on material availability and lead times.
- You will initiate appropriate paperwork to advance, delay or cancel previously scheduled materials supporting customer requirements.
- You will assure fulfillment of contract terms as to delivery, quality, price, quantity, routing and other standard or special terms.  Negotiation as required.
- You will notify suppliers regarding print specification, delivery and other required changes.
- You will research alternatives when schedule changes or delays are identified.
- You will provide information and assist purchasing management in requirements planning and definition.
- You will coordinate all supplier-related planning, scheduling and purchase order actions with other production lines and maintain delivery schedules.
- You will promote good communications between all functional areas and Eaton's supplier base.
- You will arrange for the disposal of surplus materials as required.
- You will assist in improving the metrics of past due order reduction and on-time delivery of units to internal and external customers.
- You will actively participate in process improvement and creation/adherence to standard work. Participate in process improvement events such as Continuous Improvement Framework, Kaizens and workshops in order to improve processes and reduce waste.
- You will proactively resolve Supplier accounts payable issues.  Ensure customers invoiced in a timely manner.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required   

- Minimum of three years of experience in materials planning or procurement.

- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

- No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates that currently reside within a 50 mile radius of Raleigh, NC will be considered



Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP ERP experience

- Invoicing experience

- Degree Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering

- SCM experience in a manufacturing environment

- CPIM or CPSM certification

- Lean Six Sigma Knowledge

- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications



 Position Criteria:

- Knowledge of supply chain and purchasing reporting systems

- Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills

- Results oriented with excellent problem solving skills

- Ability to interface with all organizational levels

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
