ADQS is one of the Center of Excellence (COE) within Eaton’s Enterprise IT organization. It is comprised of Application, Development, Quality and Support teams. The COE exists to solution, build, run and support applications providing its end users a productive and seamless experience. ADQS CoE works with many other COEs within Enterprise IT, participating in the full application lifecycle from initiation through support. ADQS CoE accomplishes its purpose by being efficient through standardization, being accountable and transparent through balanced metrics, being reliable through a twenty-four hour on-call global support staffing model, and being passionate about its deliverables and services driving high levels of customer satisfaction. We are looking forward to a Senior BI Support Analyst in Eaton’s Information Technology department, based in Pune, India.


ADQS COE, Support organization is looking for an ideal candidate for supporting Business Intelligence applications with primary focus on Big Data. The ideal candidate will have experience in Big Data appliances and Big Data Discovery design and development with a general understanding of additional BI tools like Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Microsoft Power BI and QlikView. The candidate will also be responsible to adhere and contribute towards the Enterprise BI best practices within Eaton and responsible for coordinating support of deployed solutions.


Your essential responsibilities:

  1. Provide day-to-day support, predominantly Medium to High complexity incidents, that are disrupting normal business operation in a timely manner, to ensure timely, reliable, cost effective service to Eaton employees and customers. Demonstrates very good understanding of business processes and in-depth knowledge of the technology and applications. Articulate business requirements and challenges faced by users.

  2. Identify and analyze top trends, suggest automations, alternatives to reduce trends/incidents.

  3. Suggests and builds re-usable components (High complexity). Provides estimates for effort and schedule for assigned tasks. Delivers tasks end to end with productivity, on-Time and Quality.

  4. Performs preventative maintenance.  Identifies areas where improvements can be made to prevent future production problems and identifies and implements long-term, permanent solutions before the problem occurs.

  5. Drive and promote ITSM best practices. Implements changes in compliance with Eaton practices for change management.

  6. Satisfactorily deliver IT services exceeding the established SLAs while maintaining satisfactory customer feedback.

  7. Prioritizes incidents to ensure high impact and urgent tickets are worked on priority and taking leadership to ensure no customer impact.

  8. Serves as the primary end user contact point for related Support activities and customer escalations. Serves as escalation point for team, for High complexity issues.

  9. Works closely with other IT support groups and impacted customers for effective resolution and testing of fixes for production support issues, Build rapport with concerned stakeholders.

  10. Meet BSC Support Metrics.  Meet/Exceed CSAT score.

  11. Documents and create knowledge repository which will helps in providing quick resolution of tickets.

  12. Mentor team members as appropriate (Simple to medium complexity).

  13. Manage CRs (raise, represent in CAB, execute, close etc. Ensure metrics fulfilment related to Change Management E.g. Change Data Health, Change: Emergency etc.).

  14. Assists in governance process.

  15. Ability to work independently, work under pressure, adapt to demanding situations and maintain schedules. Provide regular, clear, and consistent communication (written and oral) on the status of issues, deliverables prioritization and timing back to IT stakeholders.

  16. Communicates effectively with both technical and business personnel to gather requirements, communicate expectations, identify solutions, and create action plans.

Collaborate/share support work / Knowledge to other team members and third-Party applications/teams.

Qualifications

If you have:

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years over all IT experience out of which minimum 5 years in developing and supporting Big Data.

  • Expertise in Big Data architecture and reporting using Big Data.

  • Hands-on experience in developing, sharing and troubleshooting data models,

  • Hands on experience on Hadoop ecosystem development including MapReduce/YARN, HDFS, Hive, Impala, Scala, Flume, Oozie, Zookeeper and Spark.

  • Strong experience working with different Hadoop distributions like Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR and Apache, importing/exporting the data from RDBMS to HDFS

  • Good experience on data cleansing and analysis using Hive, Impala, Pig and Hadoop JavaAPI

  • Good knowledge on setting up job and scheduling with Oozie and working on messaging system such as Kafka integrated with Zookeeper

  • Expertise in dimensional modeling.

  • Strong SQL skills, preferably knowledge in performance tuning.

  • Hands-on experience in design and development of other analytics tools – OBIEE, Power BI, QlikView

  • Good Analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of formal database architecture and design.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.

  • Understanding of Industry Standard Documentation Practices.

  • Experience in a client-facing role for a top tier or similar consulting organization is highly desirable

  • Enthusiastic about learning large and complex systems.

  • Results-driven with the ability to take initiatives, handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, logical process thinking and end-to-end system concepts - Investigates problems to establish real or hidden causes.
